The only reason this place gets two stars is because the apartments themselves were absolutely wonderful on the inside when we went a viewed them. They gave more of a home feel than the standard apartment feel. We were very excited to move in. Then it went downhill. Kristoff and Ashley lie through their teeth. The experience was so horrible that my full review and explaining everything we dealt with doesn't even fit in these review spaces. Check their facebook page....youll see an extremely long review with 2 stars.....read that. Theyre horrible. Avoid at all costs.
Bad practices and bad attitudes.

Be wary. I never write reviews and often I don't trust ones that I read. For this reason I was willing to give The Park at Clearwater a chance despite the high number of negative reviews that I read online before going through my ordeal. My story goes like this: I currently live in Cary. It is a little over an hour away. My wife and I were looking for a good deal on a 3 bedroom apt. We have lived in a competitor's complex up the road (Blues Crossing) before and liked them ALOT, but they only had 2 bedrooms available. (We lived in Aberdeen a couple years ago before moving to Cary, but now have to move back.) The Park at Clearwater had a 3 bedroom available and was giving away a free months rent, so I decide to check them out. My wife is wary due to the reviews, but I go forth. I meet the management and right off the bat I'm offered the apt for $810/month which is $70 less than what is advertised on the website not including the free months rent.. It is also move in ready. I'm ecstatic, this fits our budget and our space requirements, so I take a tour of the apt... the outside of the building is pretty dirty and the base boards inside are all scuffed up, but other than that... Looks like a great deal to me.. I want it. I tell the manager that I've got to convince my wife. I go pay the application fee and processing fee ($100), but tell them I'm going to wait to pay the deposit until I get the okay from my wife. I have a hard time convincing the wife, she wants to see it , we go back (this is a separate hours drive from Cary) and take a tour together, she is starting to relent. This all occurs over the course of about a week. I make multiple trips and am on the phone several times. Throughout this time the manager, Ashley, is friendly and patient. She lets me know that I need to pay the deposit in order for her to hold the apt, but this is the only thing mentioned between then and the time I finalize my decision. So, I finally convince the wife over the weekend that this will be a good deal, call back Ashley and tell her I'm coming to sign the lease, pay the deposit and all that jazz. We plan on moving in the upcoming Sunday. I Get a truck lined up, movers lined up, electricity and renters insurance switched (these are requirements of Clearwater before signing lease)... Then, I drive an hour to go sign this lease... Ashley starts to print the agreement and then casually tells me.. The monthly rate "goes up today to $860, but I'll go ahead and give you last weeks rate, which is $826"... I'M FLABBERGASTED. I say, "the only rate we ever discussed was $810", then she gives me some BS about how the rates change from week to week and there is nothing she can do about it. I am completely floored at this point, but I maintain my cool and ask her to call a manager.. She steps out of the room for a few minutes, comes back in on the phones saying "uh huh, uh huh, I understand", then says to me "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do". My wife and I are both full time employed professionals in education and healthcare, respectively.. We could afford the rate change no problem... However, there is principal to uphold here. I grab my stuff, give her a nod of the head and say "Sorry, but I can't do it at that rate, we discussed $810." and walk out. Yes, it puts me in a scramble canceling everything and asking for more time with our current landlord, not to mention, I have to call back the competing complex up the road and beg for our 2 bedroom apt back that I had just turned down... This was all a huge pain, but all in all, I feel is was the right thing to do considering the ethics of it all.. In summary, The Park at Clearwater is clearly NOT A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION. They feel they can get away with BAIT AND SWITCH tactics and LIE to you about the PROMISED rate you are going to receive. Trust the reviews you read about this establishment. Very poor management. AVOID!!

This place sucks!

I would not recommend these over-priced junky apartments. There is dog crap everywhere. Cheaply built and can hear your neighbors. (We could actually hear our neighbors talking, playing music, ect.) When we moved in our apartment we had to reclean it because it was still dirty and we had to have them come and reclean the carpets. The employees in the office are very unprofessional. They do not return your calls promptly. They like to gossip and talk about things they shouldn't. The playground sucks at this place and should not even be advertised that they have one because I feel it is a danger to even use. You cannot run your dishwasher, washer, dryer, vacuum, ect. before 10am or after 10pm. When our lease was coming to an end they raised the rates but were offering a lower rate to new renters on their site. I could go on and on about the negatives about this place. Living here for a year was very stressful and I would highly recommend not renting here.
