McCowan signed contract & paid 50% deposit of $1600 10-23-07. Jan 2009 ,14 mos. later he wanted the deposit back & I refused because !.He ignored mine & the bldg. insp. instructions to obtain a Bldg permit. 2.The result of him gutting the house caused project cost to exceed 50% of assessed value requiring him to raise the house above flood plain .He could not obtain financing 3. Within the 14 mos. between signing my contract and asking for his deposit back Mr. McCowan ,w /no permit had a friend providing free labor do the work which was contracted to me. The Judge citing " a clear cut case of Breach of Contract " awarded Torell Const $1,124.00 profit (cost of doing business), and overhead.requiring me to pay back $476.00 of the $1,600.00 deposit + 91.50 court costs. Mr. McCowan would have been better off if he had accepted the $1,000.00 I offered him. P.S. I payed $352 State tax & $228 Income tax on the orig. $1600. "Tim" Dirty deeds dont come cheap (Arosmith)

I had to take Eric Torell to court for which I recieved a judgement plus court costs for refusing to return my deposit for a canceled job. He didn't buy any materials or schedual the job.
