Just plain rude. had a consultation said my child needed caps on his teeth. and to schedule the procedure. I go to the front desk and they said the secretary who schedules the appointments was gone and would be back at 2 pm. they said she goes to lunch at 1 pm and returns at 2 pm. I said it was 12:15 pm. I was told that i then had to schedule an appointment to come back in person in the office to schedule the procedure for my child. I said this is crazy just fax me the forms i will sign them and send them back. would not do it. Then the office calls me back and says we cannot see your child to many other children in front of yours. I ask how many people are in front of me, they said they could not tell me that information. If i had to describe my experience in a few words it would be a dog chasing its tail.

Can you say Insurance Fraud? My child went to this office, she supposedly found 4 areas of concern, and was going to drill and fill all of the spots!!!! Having a Hygienist in the family suggested a second opinion! Good thing she did, because my daughter had no problems! She did not need fillings all of her teeth were perfect. She did need sealants so she wont have to have fillings in the future, but she didn't need holes drilled in her teeth and filled unnecessarily! This Dr. and her staff (office manager is a total BUTT) is drilling holes in perfectly good teeth just for the insurance money! INSURANCE FRAUD, you better believe the VA Dental Board is going to find out about this, as well as the VBI (Virginia Bureau of Investigations) because of the fraud! (You may block me on Facebook Dr. Rolon, but you cant stop me here!)

The office itself is very cute and kid friendly. However, the staff is rude and the dentist isn't much better. I believe the staff can "make or break" a business, and the staff at Abindgon Pediatric Dentistry breaks it for me. The are rude and act like YOU owe them something, when customer service should be the other way around. I will never go back mainly because of the staff.

My son had cavities in two teeth they fixed and two they pulled. First problem - they wouldn't let me go back even though he asked that I could (and I'm pretty sure their policy says they will let the parent if the kid insists), second - they fixed a cavity between two teeth, then pulled one of the teeth a couple weeks later. My son said both times they started work before he was numb and it hurt really bad. When they pulled two teeth, they gave him an antibiotic and when I asked why before leaving the office, they said it was just to help him heal faster, so I assumed it was preventative. I called to see if he could have it switched b/c of problems transporting it to school, and they were HATEFUL!! They even told me that he had an abcess and if I didn't give it to him the way they prescribed, it would turn septic and get into his bloodstream and he would die. I said that should have been pertinent information before I left the doctors office and they hung up on me!!

Office Manager is the most rude, hateful person I have ever spoken with. Care for your child is the absolute last thing on his mind. Money, Money, Money is the greatest concern for the establishment. Poor care, rude people. Take your child somewhere else.

I am very disappointed in the service that i recieved when trying to resolve a problem with my two and a half year old that they had done seen twice already. She had had a strain of merca when she was 11 months old they told me that she had to be retested, before they could see her again. I contacted my pediatrician and the health department and they both told me that they couldn't retest her because it had been almost two years since she had it and that there were no signs since then I called back and spoke with the office manager and he was a jerk that yelled at me on the phone and told me i needed to see another pediatrician then. They said it was their office policy not to see her untill she had been retested and i was doing what i could they had done seen her twice and he didn't have to be a jerk and neither did the receptionist i talked to. We will no longer be going there and i don't recommend it for anyone else. The dentist she is now going to said that it was up to the dr to

I was very unhappy with the services provided by Abingdon Pediatric Dentistry. My child was scheduled to have a very important surgery and the office manager canceled our appointment and did not even contact us. I was told when I called that my husband had questioned the policy of "not being able to go back with your child" and we should find another dentist. They had made my child inactive in the office and had canceled the surgical appointment with no notice to us. My child's care should have been top priority and it was NOT.

I too experienced the same treatment over the H1N1 vaccine last year, and my child was denied service. We have since left their office and went somewhere else. I give my child only the vaccinces that I feel are safe. With autism and ADHD on the rise I am not going to give my child anything that has been linked to either of these. A flu shot is no reason to deny a child medical care. Thank goodness we don't have this problem with our new dentist! There were other issues involving their services as well.

I have 2 children and they both recently visited Dr Rolon's office. The office is beautiful and very very clean!! My kids loved all the "Hands On" atmosphere. My Husband even got excited about the fish tank that was filled with all the "Finding Nemo" characters. The staff members were very professional but "kid friendly" at the same time. And regarding the H1N1 comment from earlier...its makes me glad they have to wait 2 wks after having the live vaccine because that PROTECTS my children or any others from getting sick while visiting the office. After the kids cleanings, Dr Rolon gave a thorough exam and explained to me that my daughter had some work that needed to be done and because of her age she would need to go to the surgery center and be put to sleep to have the work done. As a mother those are words you never want to hear but the surgery coordinator sat down with me and answered all the questions I had. Surgery went great!! Many thanks to the staff for everything!!

I recently took my 2 children to Abingdon Pediatric Dentistry. The experience we had was amazing! My children felt so comfortable and loved the atmosphere. The staff and Dr. Rolon were very kind and made me aware of everything that was going on. I love to policy of the children going back alone after the first visit. To me this helps them deal with seperation anxiety at a young age. The earlier you start this the better off they are!! I feel totally at ease with my children being in their care. As far as the comment earlier about the H1N1 vaccine, that is not true at all. They asked us if the children had the live vaccine within the past 2 weeks simply because they cant see them for 2 weeks after the nasal spray. Nothing was every mentioned to me about my children being required to have the vaccine as we have not taken any flu vaccine. LOVE THIS OFFICE! I advise every parent looking for a good dentist to take their children here!

It's amazing how a wonderful denstist can actually get your kids so excited to get a cleaning. The staff there treats my kids with the outmost respect. I feel comfortable and at ease when my kids are being treated in the back. Their willing to work with you and the kids school schedule's. I'm so glad we've found a place where my kids can come get treated for a long time. I've read the other comments made here and I would have to disagree with all due respect. It's hard to find an office that has such a warm feeling and really makes you feel right at home. I want to personally "Thank" Dr Rolon for the job she has done . I can't imagine taking my kids anywhere else.

Do not visit this dentist. They have crazy office policies that will not allow you to go back with a child 3 and over, and they require that your child have their seasonal and H1N1 vaccines before treatment. My youngest who just turned 3 had a very negitive experience there when they tried to make him go back alone and then the staff was very rude when I told them he would no longer be treated there if I didn't go with him to the room. My sons did not have the H1N1 in what the receptionist informed me was timely manner had to wait over a month for treatment for an abscess. The other ongoing issue we have had is fillings and sealants done by them and falled out and needed multiple replacements. Our new dentist informed me that she does not numb the kids so the drilling for the fillings is not deep enough to anchor them in....good thing we switched!

Very true!! My two children have been going to them for 2yrs. During the two years we have had several appointments for a few different things. They called several times rescheduled several appointments on us. Then when we didnt show up to appointment for 8am due to snow, & ice covered roads. They sent snotty letter they would no longer see the kids. THEY CANCELLED US..((no were is this stated in the policy online, or paper work)) I called to see if we could correct this & was told NO, Find another dentist. I am sure other dentist would be more then happy to take our money for two kids dental care... Going to also give Bristol Pediatric Dentist a try. Very disappointed they would do the kids this way, due to not making a appointment for ligitment reasons!

My kids love their office but they are very unfriendly and unwilling to work with parents. They try to enforce concerning office policies such as you cannot go back with a child over the age of 3, no young kids in the afternoon etc. It makes scheduling very hard. My second issue is I was told they could no longer see my son because we opted to not get the H1N1 vaccine because again it was their policy. He had an appt in Dec I had to reschedule for Jan for 2 weeks after agreeing to get the first injection. He ended with an absess. They scheduled his appt for Feb 3, I was then told they couldn't see him because he just had the 2nd injection and had to wait another 2 weeks. My ultimate concern is that several of the fillings done there have fallen out, one more than once, including the now absessed one.We switched to a differnt dentist but they refused to give me their x-rays without paying full price for their last appts. She said they would "try" to refund our money after insurance pays.

My son was a patient here. Last month we drove 45 mins just to sit there 20mins & then be told they had to reschedule because the dentist wasn't there. This after they called the day before to confirm the appt. So we drove all that way for nothing. Then there was a scheduling error (not my fault) & they rescheduled again. Instead of being appologetic the girl on the phone was snotty about it. Also read the other review about them being rude. I've also heard of others that have had problems with this practice. Taking my business elsewhere since they don't value their patients very well & don't consider that my time is just as precious as theirs. Called & made an appt with Bristol Pediatric Dentistry.
