Provided by YP.comI was referred to Ray (the owner of Chill Temp) by my brother-in-law in '06 when my A/C went out. I was told he was fair and wouldn't overcharge me. He came out and replaced my old A/C with a brand new Haier model. I paid approximately $1450 dollars for the brand new unit.
In under four years the unit went out. I called Ray and let him know what had occurred. It took him nearly two weeks to come out to my place. He would never give me a definitive appointment date until I finally got tired of going back and forth day-in and day-out over this period in which he would say he "might be able to come out".
Mr. Gochanour finally came out and advised me that particular model (HC42A1VAR) was notorious for breaking down and he was surprised mine lasted this long. This would have been helpful information to have known before I purchased this model. He used leak lock to repair a leak in the shudder valve. All of my refrigerant was gone so it had to be recharged at a total cost of $435.00.
Fast forward just over two months and the A/C stopped spitting out cool air. I went outside to check the unit and condensation had built up around the outside refrigerant piping/valve. I immediately called Ray assuming his repairs would be under warranty since it was under three months. As I explained what I had seen he admitted he may have overfilled the unit with refrigerant. I asked him when he could come out and he said he was busy and would let me know if he could come by tomorrow in the next few days. No calls...several days later. I called him back irritated and he laughed saying, "Whoops I had kind of forgotten about you." How pleasant considering the temps here were 90+ Fahrenheit.
He was booked all day tomorrow so he told me he would give me a call tomorrow night and let me know if he could make it out the following day. I'm a police officer and work long days. I ended up working 16 hours the day he was supposed to call due to overtime; he never called. Like any rationale person, I assumed he wasn't coming. Having worked 16 hours, I was exhausted and knocked out; I had shut off my cellphone to avoid being woken up. I awoke at 8:30 am to find several messages on my phone. Ray had called and it was obvious from his tone he was irritated I "wasn't home." He had knocked on my door, left messages, etc. He even left a note on my garage. I read the note and it again implied I was at fault for not being at home and he had made the effort. I found it extremely unprofessional that he didn't call or set an appointment and was inferring that I was the one to blame. The irony and travesty of the whole incident was that I WAS in fact home (I was just so tired I slept through the doorbell/knocking).
I immediately called back Mr. Gochanour and explained the situation. I gave him dates I was off for the next two weeks and advised him to check his schedule and give me a call back with a definitive appointment. It's been two weeks and he has never called me back. I live in Corona and the temperature here often hits 100+ in the summertime. I've been fortunate this summer has been cooler than most. Obviously I cannot rely on Chill Temp to rectify their wrong.
I wrote this review so another SoCal customer won't get hoodwinked by Chill Temp. Go with a reputable company that backs it's service, products, and repairs. Ray Gochanour and Chill Temp will leave you sweltering in the sweltering California heat and not give a....

Provided by YPmobileI would not use Ray the Owner of chill temp. He is rude and in professional. I had an Ac unit installed by him 7 years ago and need some reducting. I assume Because my job was not big enough, he didn't want to do it. it took a month just to get him out here and then 2 weeks with no response. I called and he said maybe and I would hear from him. He never called. Finally I texted him asking when he would show up. And he said he wasn't planning on it.
I would not recommend Ray at Chill Temp.

Provided by YP.comI strongly agree with other reviewers about this business owners, Ray and Susan. Ray is very unprofessional, unethical, and great liar who refused to come back to check my A/C unit that was sold to me and installed by Ray for only couple years ago. He also did not install the unit properly according to the City codes twice for my duplex. I wish I had read these reviews before hiring Ray.Please do not waste your time and money dealing with these people to avoid being another victim of theirs.
