Cipollina Rustic Italian Kitchen is the newest endeavor by Laurie Bordonaro Mozee (owner of Guy’s Subs) and Chef Jerry Clementi (former owner of Cafe Aroma and Trattoria Aroma). Laurie and Jerry met more than fifty years ago over a dish a pasta at their grandparents’ house. Being cousins brought up in first generation Italian households, Laurie and Jerry are no strangers to authentic Italian cuisine. Chef Jerry Clementi creates art with his breathtaking food. Look no further than Cipollina’s customers for proof of Chef Jerry’s prowess: The first bite of every dish provokes an “ahhh” reaction from diners on a regular basis. The ambiance of the room makes you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you step through the door. One wall is home to a beautiful mural painted by Keith Bordonaro, Laurie’s brother. The opposite wall is decorated with pictures of Laurie’s parents (Sam and Neda Bordonaro) at their wedding, surrounded by family members. The photographs, taken on July 22, 1946, capture pure joy and love; these feelings radiate throughout Cipollina. Why the name Cipollina? Laurie’s grandmother, Fermina Cheavacci, always called her granddaughter “cipollina,” an Italian word which means “little onion.” The term of endearment is a fond memory of Fermina and a testament to the strong familial bonds out of which the restaurant has grown. A restaurant with a unique warmth and cuisine that lingers in your memory long after the last bite, Cipollina Rustic Italian Kitchen is a truly unforgettable dining experience.Cipollina Rustic Italian Kitchen is the newest endeavor by Laurie Bordonaro Mozee (owner of Guy’s Subs) and Chef Jerry Clementi (former owner of Cafe Aroma and Trattoria Aroma).
