Provided by YP.comAt first, I was pretty happy with the company. The owners son Todd came out to do the inspection. I had gotten an estimate from Ohio State Waterproofing earlier in the month but it seemed high so I wanted a second opinion. Todd assured me they would do the SAME thing as OSW, especially since the engineer who supposedly designed Ohio State's product worked for Basement Care now. And the price was $6,000.00 LESS. Naturally, it sounded good, was cheaper, so I hired them. Kudos on the sales job. Over the next few weeks, I left 3 different messages with the receptionist for the project manager, as I had a few questions - mostly on updates for a time frame of work to be completed. No call back. Ever. Fast forward to work day (Monday July 14, 2014). I was pretty happy to have this done since my entire basement got gutted due to a massive flood. The crew was not very careful... they broke an in-floor drain that they had to fix and also broke a water line they had to fix, but those things happen and they fixed them so no worries there. The "same system as Ohio State" was supposed to include a whole house de-humidification/circulation system, a sump pump with a secondary backup and a battery backup (as quoted from OSW), and a new external drain system that directed water away from the house. Well... all they did was dig 18 or so inches down and tar the walls and put in a plastic barrier. I was told that there is no need to redirect the water at this time. The foreman said "It has a lifetime warranty anyways so if you have problems in the future, we come out to fix it for free". Whatever. The de-humidification system is nothing more than a vent pipe with a small fan on it that pulls air thru the pipes and outside which will essentially help with moisture but is in no way shape or FORM close to the Ohio State system. They tore the heck out of the interior FINISHED walls and NEVER sealed the cracks in the poured wall foundation as they were supposed to. I texted pictures of the destroyed walls to the owners son, Todd, and this is the exact quote of his reply...
"Ok thats good. Well I know we saved you a lot of money on this so I help that really helps you" (I think he meant hope that helps).
This reply was basically "Screw off, you hired us, we were cheaper. what did you expect?" That's how I took it as a consumer. Now, $10,000.00 may not be much to some folks but it is to me and my family.
Bottom line, the work is done, now how well it was done I do not know since I am not a water proof guy, but I am not satisfied and will most likely never recommend this company to anyone. If we were not planning on moving within the next 2-3 years, we would have gone with Ohio State Waterproofing.

Provided by YP.comKudos to the people at basement care. They waterproofed my basement last summer at what I thought was a fair price(I spoke with 3 companies). The basement is dry and mold free but I recently heard a strange noise from a pump. I called for service and they responded the same day. Thank you for your promptness.
