Wanted to transfer from existing OB because this practice is all female and uses akron general. After making me wait for 2+ weeks to get our medical files transferred they told us they were not accepting new patients. No medical reason to refuse the transfer, I had been in communication every few days for the entire time. They showed no empathy and wasted my time. If they were not taking new patients they should not have made me go through the whole process, now we do not have time enough to transfer before our next appointment with our current OB.

Defiantly would not recommend this practice! I moved to Ohio from Virginia and am a little over 6 months pregnant. I called Akron OBs to make an appointment and they told me they would need to review my file to make sure I was an "acceptable patient" after I passed that test they told me I needed to meet with a nurse to review my medical history. So I go in for the appointment and wait over an hour to be asked about 5 questions that were all in my transfer paperwork. (I then recovered a $150 bill for this because my insurance wasn't correctly applied. ;) ) I was told I needed a fetal echo so made an appointment for two days later at Akron Children's hospital. My appointment with the actual Dr was scheduled for two Monday's after. I had to cancel this appointment due to the start of a new job. Well I was kindly emailed and told that Akron OBS will not be able to be my obstetrician because I was unable to attend my FIRST appointment and that indicates I will be a "problem patient." I thought I had been to two appointments already but I guess the Dr I was scheduled to see is unable to work around her patients needs and is okay with leaving someone who is over 6 months pregnant and has been working with her office for a month with no Dr. Thanks Akron OBs!

My first visit was Dr. McGreivy she is wonderful. Her mannerism and her total care for her patient was off the charts. i did not feel like a number. My concerns were all addressed. This facility was easy to find and that staff was greeted me coming in and when I left the office, they shouted have a good day by the name. I was and am still to impressed. Keep up the good work ladys. Ms Lewis they call me.
