Provided by YP.comMy wife and I had dinner at Katsu last night. I can honestly say that the service was great, very pleasant. Tempura Roll, Super California Roll, and Katsu Donburi were very good. Having just moved to Alameda, we have found a restaurant that we both enjoy.

Provided by YP.comMy daughter and I went to Katsu per a friends review of the resturaunt. My daughter wasn't sure about raw fish but the staff made recomendations about what she might want to try. She wound up with one of their bento boxes which allowed her to try a little bit of a couple different non-fish items; she enjoyed her meal I had some of their specials of the day, a roll whose name I have forgotten and fresh halibut. Both were fresh and delicious. A winning menu that pleased both our appetites.

Provided by YP.comI ate at Katsu recently. I had the hamachi sashimi appetizer and the blossom roll. The tuna was very fresh. The presentation of the roll was artistic and I enjoyed my meal very much

Provided by YP.comMy family and I have gone to the corner of Santa Clara and Webster through out all the different versions of cuisine served over the last 10 years. We have found the staff of Katsu very welcoming. They seat us promptly per our preference -even moved us once after receiving our order because we were catching a draft from the door as people came in and out. Each time we have gone multiple servers have attented to our table to refill our water and tea, and make sure our dining experience is going well. We have also taken out. I have called a half hour before coming over, food is all ways prepared and the items that should be hot are hot and the items that should be cold are cold.

Provided by YP.comI had gone to this restaurant during the previous owners from 2005 to 2006. Within the last couple of months everything from the food and the service and staff have literally obliterated. My wife and I had gone there a few times hoping the experience would be better than the previous. During the 2008 Chinese new year's
my wife and I were going to eat at Katsu sushi parked in their parking lot (one of the reasons parking is accessible) and decided to walk to the nearest liquor store to purchase some cigarettes first and then walk back to the restaurant. When walking half way down the block two angry japanese people
I believe the owners of the restaurant started yelling at us to move the car and stated the parking was for customers only. I then told them my intentions, but before I can finished the male person did not believe me at all and stated 'yea that's what they all say' and proceeded to continually be rude to us. We again told them we are regulars and asked why she didn't even recognize us before screaming at us to get our car out from the parking lot. After all comotion we decided that we were never going to frequent that restaurant again. My wife tell's me that some of her co-workers got sick from eating there. A lawsuit is now pending.

Provided by YP.comThis Korean owned business is one of the worst customer service and management I've ever seen. We've been there a few times thinking the food and atmosphere was a 3 star out of 5. However, ever single time we've been there, the husband and wife owners care more about money to thier own benefit then the customers itself. One time we went thier with our daughter on Valentines day and they had plenty of tables open (not much business and I understand why now), yet the male owner tried to put us in a table for two, which would not fit the amount we wanted to order and where was our child going to sit? There 80% of the restraunt was empty and when we asked for a larger table that seats 3 or 4, the male owner actually YELLED, "NO!!" to our surprize and luckily the waitress was smart enough to figure out a way were we could sit on the bench and put two small tables together. Another time we went, the woman owner couldn't run our credit card through and told us that it wasn't thier machine. I had used the card all day without a problem and told her to call in for an authorization code to confirm as the magnetic stripe might not be as sensative with thier machine (speaking as a business owner myself having delt with customers with the same problem). Instead she was argumentative, rude and down right offensive... acting like she was scared we couldn't pay. This Korean owned restraunt has rude and offensive owners that could care less about the customers. The food is not authentic. We will never return and would not recommend anyone to go here. We've been there a total of 5 times trying to give them a chance every time. However, everytime the owners (who is the host and cashier) has managed to offend us with thier absolutely rude service.
