Provided by YP.comNeptune Palace Hotel is located in the heart of Alameda on Webster St. The building is 140+ years standing and as such is a historic building that is currently being preserved by the current owner.
The 1800s architecture and layout of the building allow you to experience how life was for those whose footsteps passed across the boardwalks (now paved sidewalks) during days gone by.
The downstairs corner store and ice-cream parlor is a reminder of the ole' time corner grocery store that many locals used during the previous century. Hair salons and restaurants have replaced the original saloons that use to line the boardwalk below Neptune Palace Hotel. Nowadays, you can cross the street to Wally’s Place, hang out while being served a low cost satisfying cocktail – if you so choose to indulge.
Neptune - A Minimalist Community
The neighbors at Neptune are what makes this community work. I have lived here for 2 years and I've met most all of the neighbors. We all are minimalist seeking shelter from this crazy overpriced housing market and we're able to adapt to a lifestyle reminiscent of dayz gone by.
There is no kitchen area onsite. However, you are allowed a small fridge and a microwave. There are lots of great restaurants along Webster St.
Each room is private so you do not have to be concerned about someone keying into your unit. Rm has a sink and a medicine cabinet. My rm has a huge window which I installed a shade behind the blind. The shade helps keep the rm cool during summer. Winter, I lift the shade & get a great view of the neighborhood as the sun warms my rm.
Each room has its own electrical outlet and if you exceed the voltage the power switch is tripped – just like in the ole' timey dayz. And there are fire alarms and extinguishers throughout the building. In addition, there is a sprinkler system running along the ceiling. Security cameras installed.
