Albany Technical College, established in 1961, offers diplomas and certificates in technical education, and applied technology degree programs to students. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students. The various programs offered by the university include accounting, residential plumbing, sales marketing and management, automotive technology, carpentry, construction, electricity, dental assisting, fire service, and business studies. It also provides training programs for administrative assistance, engine machining, industrial model making, welding, hospitality management, and horticulture maintenance and culinary arts. The sports activities offered by the university include football, soccer, basketball, broomball, ice hokey and softball. The college also provides residential and dining facilities, financial aid and career counseling to students. It is located in Albany, Ga.
