WAMC is a regional public radio network serving parts of seven northeastern states, including New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. The station is headquartered in Albany, N.Y., and airs national and internatonal news, sports and business news, and weather reports. It has a performing arts studio and organizes various concerts, such as WAMC night at the mahaiwe, the Derek truck band and evening with the artist jazz series. It hosts a variety of programs, such as Words For The Wise, Marketplace, Naturewatch, Writer s Almanac, Star Date, Pulse Of The Planet, and The Beer Show. The station is a member of National Public Radio and an affiliate of Public Radio International.
