I have been a steel erector for 22 years, I use a small handful of fabricators. In my 22 years I have never had issues with simple details for on site erection. Against my better judgement my fabricator which has done great in the past decided to use Cad Connection. my project went 38k over budget because of these clowns. I had to re-order steel,nothing could be erected on site. I had numerous conversations with my fabricator regarding this and his answer was the same, the detailers are new and are not clear on misc steel or angle iron railings or simple connectins for simple beams . they charge you for change orders that clearly are not changes. Since then, I have talked with 3 other companies in Oregon/Washington, that have used these guys and it was the same story, BOM's not accurate, details not clear. communications terrible. but they want their money not willing to take any responsibility . BEWARE. very dissapointing
