Took my daughter to an oral surgeon to see about having lower wisdom teeth extracted. X-rays did show wisdom teeth coming in, but roots were not developed so he would not perform surgery. I understood that, BUT he then told us that wisdom teeth don't cause pain. What??! He told her she was grinding her teeth in her sleep or was stressed. Kinda hard to grind your teeth in your sleep when you sleep with your mouth wide open; she has done that since birth. He then pushed extremely hard on her tempromandibular joint, then asked her, if that hurt? She told him yes, only because he was pressing so hard into the joint. The chief complaint was pain UNDER the angle of the mandible. The joint and angle are a good space away from each other, (google it). We tried to tell him but he wouldn't listen. MY final assessment: If your looking for a doctor to have a one sided consultation with, your in luck. Next time we'll head to Birmingham.
