It just worked

I read the previous review after searching the web for a good machine shop in Albuquerque. I blew a spark plug from the head of my Acura RSX and needed a complete long block rebuild. Vern is the man. I dropped it off in pieces, he and his guys did their magic. I picked it up assembled, re-installed it in the car, turned the key... and it just worked. Thanks Vern.

In all honesty though, after a few conversations with Vern, rebuilding engines today is not a quick turn operation. Parts are becoming harder to come by and engineers are increasingly using exotic materials in the cylinders, making a rebuild more costly than a replacement. I'd recommend talking to Vern before you even start, to see if can be done.

Best Machine Shop in Albuquerque

Vern Anderson is a genious with machine work. I hired this shop to do the work ona TBI 350 chevy engine for my truck. I pulled the engine myself and brought it to him for all the work. He asked me what it was being built for and spent a lot of time understanding what performance mods I was planning to employ in the operation of the motor. At this point his 30 years of experience came shining through. I wanted to drop a ton of money building a bottom end that would have handeled 600 horsepower and a set of heads that would have been useless with the induction that I was planning to use. He reworked the existing heads and did a sweet bottom end rebuild for a slightly hopped up motor. The engine was assembled and dynamically balanced on his monster lathe. He assembled the motor including all of the tin and the intake. The whole job cost me 1500. This was a deal considering that I got a fully assembled and blueprinted long block. All the rotating assembly and even one head were replaced for this price. He recommended advancing the stock cam 4 degrees over a 4x4 cam and I never regretted taking his advice on that. This motor has ran exceptionally with great oil pressure and no overheating. With the mods that were done by me, aftermarket holley 680 cfm throttle body, MSD 6AL box, K&N air filter, and made sure all fuel injection peripherals were functioning properly this was the result. Near 300 horsepower and 22 mpg highway and 18 mpg in town running a 6" lift and 35" tires.

All in all the shop is a pleasure to work with. They are honest and hard working. The turn around time on this motor was only 4 days. I would recommend this business to any body.

Sincerely

Matthew Bridger
