Monarch Properties recently took over management of Encino Gardens, a senior citizen and disabled only apartments. Joann Hohman is now the woman in charge of this complex. Ms. Hohman is, to put it simply, a bully. Any tenant who doesn’t do what she wants, how she wants, when she wants, gets threatened with eviction. Any property owners looking for a management company should NOT hire them.

I went in to view an apartment, and the leasing agent was nice, as well as the manager, but the apartment I wanted to view, they did not have at the time. I was later called and was told that one came available, I went out the next day and applied, I left my deposit, well it took nearly two weeks before I heard anything, I was constantly given the run around, I hardly ever spoke to the manager. I finally was told I was not approved because I recently went to another job, but I was told that I could not get my deposit back for up to 30 days. I called the Monarch proprties bookkeeping dept, for nearly a week and still they hadn't recieved my paper work to send me a refund. I awaited to the next week only to find out that the bookeeper handling the case will be out the entire week. I was not happy at the way the situation went about. The property was in Rosenberg Texas. In my opinion the situation could have been handle in a more professional matter.
