Mission: Enhance the capacity of New Mexico's Food Banks in order to build a well-nourished New Mexico. Formed in April 2000, New Mexico Association of Food Banks is a collaborative organization consisting of seven food banks that serve the entire state. Since we first began, our distribution of food has tripled to about 31 million pounds every year. If charitable organizations were to purchase that much food, it would cost $46 million. All of the fresh produce procured by NMAFB is available free of charge to agencies that serve low-income New Mexicans NMAFB distributes food through more than 650 charitable agencies statewide. Examples of these are soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless and domestic violence shelters and senior centers. At least 80% of these are faith-based organizations. Programs and operations of the Association are funded by the State of New Mexico and grants from,,, and MAZON, the Jewish Response to Hunger. We also welcome contributions from individuals like you.
