Southwest Literacy Foundation
200 Rosemont Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102
The principle function of the Foundation is to raise funds to support homeless women and children. We provide in-school tutoring to homeless children to support their academic achievement. Homelessness is the condition and social category of people without a regular house or dwelling because they cannot afford it, or are otherwise unable to maintain regular, safe, and adequate housing, or lack fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. The child, or family without a home lacks the basic foundation of human existence. We at the Southwest Literacy Foundation want to address this reality by providing caring tutors to help anchor the child in studies at school helping to provide stability in a sometimes unstable and chaotic life.
