(There is a shortage of neurosurgeons in many areas of the U.S., including Albuquerque. Therefore, it may take a period of time to get an appointment scheduled with any of the neurosurgeons. Appointments are scheduled as related to urgency of patient's medical condition). Dr. Metzger requires the provision of a patient's MRI disc of images and the radiologist's impression/report of the results. I really like this as within one week, I received a call to schedule an appointment because Dr. Metzger had reviewed my MRI images and report ahead of time. He had determined that I would benefit from neurological surgery of the cervical spine. I received a thorough examination and a detailed oral explanation of the procedure by Jacque Pasternacki, Physician Assistant.The surgery was performed in about two and one-half weeks. Mr. Pasternacki and the support staff were professional, kind and caring. I highly recommend this neurosurgical practice.
