American Foods Group has a history dating back to 1918 as a food packing company. It is the inspiration behind the National Football League s Green Bay team called the Packers. American Foods Group is a food company headquartered in Green Bay, Wis. It is engaged in the harvest and fabrication of cattle into boxed beef and the sales and marketing of value added beef and processed pork products. Carl W. Kuehne acquired the company in 1985 and expanded it from its two original plants in Wisconsin. Dakota Pork Industries and Sheboygan Sausage Company are two acquisitions to American Foods Group in the following 20 years. It has a beef plant located on Acme Street in Green Bay that is a full-line ground beef producer distribution centers in South Dakota and Ohio.
