Provided by YP.comwarning indicator for the transmission came on and the vehicle stopped in the middle of the street when I was driving it, and at times it seemed as if the transmission was slipping, my brakes were squeaking and seemed a little low, and that the vehicle was registering service due -4 months. Ms. Van said that the service indicator was saying that the vehicle needed to be inspected, and that she could remove that since I personally had the vehicle inspected in March 2011. I also requested that the sonar on the passenger side be check due to the fact that it was going on whenever I went in reverse.
Upon retrieving my vehicle , I was charged $128.78 for AT00l Miscellaneous Automatic Transmission Repair. It was communicated to me that this fee was for diagnostic services. I was somewhat perplexed by that charge due to the fact that I have the Maintenance Warranty and the mechanical warranty on the vehicle. I questioned this, and I was informed that "this is not covered under the warranty." I paid the requested amount. I was informed that "nothing was wrong with the transmission."
another warning emblem along with reading "low coolant level." I was somewhat perturbed by this since BMW of Alexandria had the vehicle a little less than a month ago.
On Saturday, October 1, I received a call from BMW to inform me -that "the vehicle needed a radiator hose due to the fact that hose had a leak and a sensor to the tune of $770.00." Ms. Adebo queried me "as to did I want the repairs completed today?" I declined.
Upon retrieving my vehicle, once again, I was assessed a $128.38 fee for WT001 Miscellaneous Wheel/Tires – Repair.
Once again, the "low coolant warning came on. I decided to call BMW of Midlothian in Richmond. This is where I purchased the vehicle. I bought the vehicle in on October 15th. They could not find anything wrong. Once again, the "low coolant warning came on. I bought the vehicle down again on November 15th,
Early that afternoon, I received a call from Matt Underwood apprising me that they had detected a hole in the radiator hose and the replacement cost would be $387.00. (This is what BMW of Alexandria had told me what was wrong to the tune of $770.00) I never communicated to BMW of Midlothian the other dealership's findings.
Also, I had to BMW of Alexandria that my navigation system was saying the address book was full I was informed that I probably needed updates and that would cost $200. BMW of Midlothian did whatever had to be done to get it operational to the tune of no cost.
I also told BMW of Aleandria that a strip in the back needed to be replaced. They informed me that it would cost $260.00 BMW of Midlothian ordered the part for $43.00 - painted it, put it on the vehicle. Total cost: $73.00
I write this blog to say do not deal with BMW of Alexandria for repairs. i drive a 760Li and I still have the Maintenance Warranty in tact and so twice I have been assessed a $128.00 charge in two months. The dealership is not maknig money off of warranty work so they are nicke and diming you for other things.
I wrote to the CEO of BMW, and he assigned it to a Vice President, who has basically dropped the ball. I did file a complain with theh Departmetn of Consumers Affairs in Virginia who investigating the case.
BMW give you the 4 year maintenance warranty, but they really do not want to do the work. I also extended the warranty to the tune of $2,500.
Be very careful of when they communicate to you that your vehicle needs work. They are very pushy and want you to get the work done right then and there. I saved myself over $300 just by going to another dealership.

Provided by YP.comThis is the worst ever consumer experience i had. This is totally unacceptable from BMW. I have had issues w/ my 2012 BMW z4 since November 2017 that could not have been solved by this Service. I finally took my car to a third party service, got the problem identified and now my car works perfect. Since then I am dealing with Alexandria Service to be refunded in full. The GM of the shop does not return my calls and does not respond to my emails. It is so upsetting that the consumer approach of 1990's can still exist in a BMW shop. Sad very sad.

Provided by YP.comMy wife and I have purchased 2 new BMWs from BMW of Alexandria, and I have nothing but compliments for this dealership.
For me a $60K car purchase is a pretty big purchase, so I shopped all over the Washington DC area visiting Fairfax, Silver Spring, and even Baltimore before buying my well accessorized BMW M sport 335. Already knowing the best prices ranges when I walked into BMW of Alexandria and met Habil for the first time, I was surprised to be offered a very fair deal, and felt no pressure to buy the car I wanted. Over the past 5 years follwong my first purchase I have gotten to know Habil our salesperson a little better, and had no reservations taking my wife in when she was ready to buy a new BMW SUV.
I have come to realize that Bob Hammersley the service manager is a BMW enthusiast himself, and he is very knowledgeable and he and his team have many years of BMW service experience. My wife's car is still new and has been trouble free, but my 335 did have a nagging service engine soon (SES) light issue that was not resolved the first time the car was serviced. After speaking with Bob I was confident that his team was in contact with the BMW USA service staff, and would find the source of the SES problem. In the end, they took car of the problem, and although my car was just out of warranty, they covered the majority of the cost under the BMW "Good Will" program, and of course provided a BMW loaner while my car was being serviced. I know if I decide to buy another BMW, I will be visiting BMW of Alexandria.
