Child Excited to Go to Day Care

I was nervous about taking my child to day care/leaving him with a nanny or any one else for me for that matter. Hopkins House staff understood my apprehension and were quick to dissolve my fears. My son has been with Hopkins House since he was 3 months old. He was lucky enough to have been in the infant room at both the Forest Pl and Old Town Locations and he loves them both. When I tell him we are getting in the car to go see his teacher he raises his hands and kicks his feet and laughs and laughs. Nothing could make me feel better than to know even though he can't talk he is telling me that he loves going to "school." The teachers and administrative staff are exceptional and even though my son is still in the infant classroom they encourage large and fine motor skills, music, language and the arts. They are constantly turning play time into a learning situation that my son loves.

Very enjoyable Staff that really cares!

I have had my daughter at HH for 9 months now. I am very pleased with the progress she has made developmentally and with all the assistance the staff has given this first time mom. They never are too busy to answer questions or help me with next steps for my girl. They even helped me find the H1N1 vaccine!!

Best in child early development and care

Before my wife and I decided to sign our daughter up at Hopkins house, we interviewed and visited many other daycare centers and interviewed nannies and talk to friends and relatives about our options.

Finally my wife convinced me to visit the center. I was opposed to going there simply because of the distance from our home to the school; we live in Arlington and Hopkins House is in Old Town Alexandria.

Let me just say that I am not very easy person to impress under normal circumstances, so when it comes to my daughter's well being I don't take things very lightly and I tend to be extremely cautious.

Within ten minutes of walking in to Hopkins House, I knew that this was the place for us.

The staff was nice and welcoming without being too mushy or over the type. Every single person we interacted with was smiling and made a point of saying hello and welcoming us.

After chatting with a few of the administrative staff we finally met with the teachers who will be in charge of our daughter. She was extremely professional and very helpful in easing our concerns about having our three month old in hers and the other teacher's care. She talked to us at length and answered all of questions no matter how ridiculous they were. But more importantly she was warm, kind and seemed to be a natural around children. We were in!

I's been three months that our daughter has been at Hopkins House and I can't say that we have had a single complaint or issue with the center. In a very short period of time our little on seems to have developed into quite a little person. She is far more advanced than children her age, she is always happy but more importantly she loves being at daycare. When my wife and I go to pick her up, she is always happy to see us but you can also tell that she will miss teachers. She always reaches back at them and smiles very big. We can tell she loves it there and we are certain that she is also extremely loved by everyone.

If you are looking for a place that is just like home but better, Hopkins House is the place to take your little angel. It's a place rich in history and culture, they have been around for a very long time raising America's future stars, teachers and leaders and they will be around for years to come.
