Mount Vernon High School teaches students in grades nine through 12. Its arts department provides classes in music, visual arts, orchestra, theatre arts, vocal ensemble and music theory. The school provides classes in life planning, leadership education, marketing, Web page development, office administration, and child development and parenting. Its curriculum also includes classes in mathematics, English, social studies, biology, history, and family and consumer sciences. Its foreign language department provides classes in French, Spanish and German. Mount Vernon High School s extracurricular activities include various recreation programs, including orchestra party, rhythm and poetry and chorus. The school also provides sports activities, such as football, hockey, tennis, wrestling, soccer, hockey, softball and golf. Mount Vernon High School is located in Alexandria, Va.
