Provided by YP.comI made the switch to synthetic a while back due to frequent road trips and I know a change is more expensive for synthetic than regular so I called a few shops in the area to get a decent price. I called this shop and couldn't believe it'd be only $60! Then I got to the shop... I was told at the shop no it would be $75. I mentioned being told over the phone the price and was told that I was told the wrong price. The price was comprable to what I was quoted elsewhere so I stayed. When they were done I looked at the receipt..$86. The cashier asked why I looked upset, that I had been given a 10% discount. I explained that I was quoted 60 then 75 now it was 86. I was told the cashiers don't really know the prices the mechanics make them. Pretty sure that's an important thing for a cashier to know. I won't be back

Provided by YP.comThe most important thing I look for in a mechanic is honesty. These guys don't bs me. Not only are their services cheap (e.g. oil change for $22), but their labor rates are extremely reasonable, and the parts that they charge for appear to be not too inflated. In fact, I'm not even sure they inflate the prices for parts, unlike other mechanics that charge 3 times more than the parts are worth. There is absolutely no other place I would go to.
The only bad thing about this place is that it is a little hard to find. If you use navigation services, it'll lead you right to a Shell gas station that does auto repair. Once you go to the station, there is a small road that leads to the back. I recommend looking up this shop on google first to get a good idea of what I'm talking about. There is a small sign that says "Mt Vernon Auto Repair" posted on a telephone pole with an Arrow pointing in the back. Once you reach the site, don't be fooled by the appearance of the shop, because it does look old, small, and a little run down. I think that this minimalist approach saves overhead costs, which allows the mechanics to not inflate the price (just my guess).
I found this shop when I plugged in the closest auto repair to where I was on my navigation system. When I called, I noticed that they were Korean through their accents, so I figured I would give them a try (they speak English by the way). After observing how they fixed my car along with everybody else's car, I came to the conclusion above. I would like to see this company do very well, not only because they are Korean, but it is a shame that a company like this doesn't invite more customers. Don't take my word for it alone. Go for an oil change ($22 for 4-cyclinder, $25 for 6-cyclinder) and get a feel for these guys.

Provided by YP.comI have used Mt. Vernon Auto Repair for the past 10 years and they always seem to do a good job. One thing for sure is that their prices are the best in town.

Provided by YP.comI went to have my car repaired here for the first time about 2 weeks ago. The mechanics were very thorough and made me feel comfortable. They were very reasonable too. I was a bit skeptical because I needed a lot of work done. All very necessary right away though. But it was a great deal as an end result. And so far so good. No problems. The staff was very courteous also. And they explained what I needed to do for future repairs/visits. But they were very trustworthy because they didn't tack on additional fees and fix "problems that didn't exist". I will conitnue to get service there.
