About The NAIOP Northern Virginia ( Commercial Real Estate Development Association ) was chartered in 1980 by a group of local developers. Governed by a Board of Directors and Executive Committee, which is elected annually, NAIOP Northern Virginia's professional staff is located in Alexandria, Virginia. With over 57 chapters in North America, the Northern Virginia Chapter is one of the largest with over 700 members. The association offers a full complement of services for its membership, including: monthly educational programs, an annual bus tour, annual awards program, annual and mid-year real estate forecasts, golf tournaments and legislative representation at the state and local level Positively impacting the environmental, social, and economic quality of life in Northern Virginia Our educational programs and seminars are designed to help you maximize your professional development and business opportunities. You'll find great opportunities to meet with your peers and network with the decision makers you need to know to build your business. Luncheon Programs provide timely, informative topics and promote invaluable networking opportunities. Lunch With programs provide NAIOP members an opportunity to have an informal lunch with a captain of the development industry, a policy maker or an elected official. The lunches are topical, timely and affordable. Educational Meetings, such as our Economic Forecast, Mid-Year Forecast, Seminars, and Development 101, provide professional enrichment and collegial interaction. Bus Tour and Trade Show is an annual event which includes a tour of Northern Virginia's top development projects and sites via a police escorted bus caravan. The tour is preceded by a morning Trade Show. The tour is the first Thursday in May.
