Called to have my washer fixed. Repairman was either totally unqualified or just plain lazy. He wasted a couple of hours of my wife's time, performed no diagnostic checks, told her it would cost $1200 dollars to repair an $800 machine (less than four years old), then tried to sell us a 'whole house' appliance warranty for $69. a month. When I told him "NO", he wasted another 30 minutes processing my $104. service charge bill. The technician's demeanor made my wife so nervous that she almost called my neighbor (Army combat veteran) to help her get the tech to leave. He actually spent more time on the phone during this service call than he did looking at the washer and he performed NO actual diagnostic service. He was a contractor and Sears has offered to send a qualified Sears technician to diagnose the problem next week. We'll see how he or she does then I'll report back on this page. Look for my response as "rcarmic1".

Ahmad and Rahim were the fourth team to problem solve our leaking washing machine. I appreciated the effort and time spent assessing every component. They were professional and seemed to care that our issue has not been resolved. Ahmad balanced the machine and created an overflow vent for splashing water. he suggested a tray we could purchase to pit under the machine in case the problem persists.
We were offered a great price on renewing our coverage, at this time we feel we have many months left on the warranty so we opted out. I highly recommend this team of Sears Service Technicinas.

The technician (Shafi .N) arrived on time and was very proactive in repairing our dishwasher. While repairing it, he was also very helpful in giving me information on my other appliances and how important is to keep these warranty services up to date. Upon preparing, I purchase also a warranty service for my refrigerator and added the dishwasher that he was repairing into this service. He was stelar in his service and went over the top in making sure my dishwasher would be functional for years to come. Thank you Shafi!

Sears called to let me know the repairman was on the way. The repair man called when he arrived - 5 minutes early and when I asked for an additional 5 minutes he waited in his truck. When he came in he asked me the problem with the washer and I was able to explain the codes I was getting when the washer quite and point out that the bracket for the door lash was broken. He quickly diagnosed the problem as two-fold 1) the door latch assembly and 2) the control unit. He also explained the warranty option much better than the person I spoke with on the phone when I made the appointment. I elected to replace only the door latch and put of the replacement of the controller as it was considerably more expensive. The technician offered to service the dryer and washer explaining that there was a manager's special. He explained what the service did and how often I should consider having it done. There was considerable amount of lint in the dryer, which is a fire hazard especially considering that I have a gas dryer. In the washer he found a foam pad in the pump which was probably causing the slow drain symptom I was experiencing. The technician was very courteous and knowledgable and spent an appropriate amount of time repairing my machine. I was very, very pleased with the service!

My ice maker (which was under warranty) wasn't working properly so I called for a repair. They came out and installed a "reburbished" one. That worked for a few weeks and then rattled the freezer and leaked. So I called again for them to come out and repair it. They came out, worked on the ice maker, and said it was fixed. Two days later, it was still not working so I called again. Sears told me that my warranty had expired and I would need to pay for another warranty or the repair service. My thought is that they didn't "do anything" on the visit and were waiting for my warranty to expire. I have used Sears for 40 years and am shocked at this underhanded practice. Shoddy workmanship and dishonesty = Sears. That is such a shame!!!

Sears reacted promptly and effectively to repair our Kenmore refrigerator after a valve failed and it began to leak water on our kitchen floor. A single early morning call to the Sears 1-800 repair number resulted in a repairman arriving within hours. He identified the problem, replaced the leaking valve, and cleaned up the unit's drip pan. The repair man was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional in all respects. My wife and I could not be more pleased with how Sears responded.

Very pleasant repair person who was able to obtain the needed part from another technician and repaired our Kenmore Elite bottom freezer, French door refrigerator which we love. Glad I had read the reviews as this part replacement occurred just after a year of our purchase, but we bought an extended warranty so it was completely free.

I forgot our Sears repair technican's name. We should know it. He has been here three times this year so far because of a poorly made dishwasher. The repairman is delightful with his charming Jamaican accent and his kindness and skill level. Sears is lucky to have such a technician working for them. We are very pleased when he comes. He is even starting to know our children's name. Now that is service.

No stars. This was the worst repair experience of my life. Suffered through seven appointments when the technicians came without documents, ordered the wrong parts, changed times without informing us or simply did not show up. I spent $500 on parts, a return that has not been processed. I finally cancelled and had a local guy with his own repair business, he cleaned the machine and fixed the problem for $149.
