I work in Alexandria 4 days a week and i always eat here atleast once, usually twice.The shack sampler is the best deal, pulled pork, ribs, tenders, and 2 sides for 13 bucks. You can't beat it. Every sauce they have is great. Shanes is on par or better than red,hot, and blue.

I've had the chicken and pork sandwiches which were good, but not great. Saying that, I grew up in the South so my taste for BBQ is, perhaps, a little "deeper" than the typical BBQ found in Virginia.

The staff is very friendly but the food does not have the classic barbeque taste. It's more of cooked food with some out of the bottle sauce on it. I must say the peach cobbler was the best thing I ordered.
