I am not from Algoma but wanted to use a local florist to send flowers for a funeral service.

I browsed the Steele St. Floral website to give her an idea of what I was thinking of. She let me know what flowers she did and didn't have available and let me know what I could substitue to achieve the same look. She informed me of what had already been ordered for this particular funeral so we could compliment that as well. We came up with a nice idea for an arrangement and she took my phone number so she could reach me in the case that something came up.

I felt very satisfied with the service she provided. I'm not going to be able to see the final product but I'm feeling pretty positive and hopeful it will be an attractive basket that sends the family the message we want it to.

I had ordered a bouquet of flowers for my Mom's birthday. I don't live in Algoma, but my Mom works there. I paid $56 for the smallest, most insignificant bouquet I have ever seen. I ordered them online, and had checked a box that said substitutions could be made. Big Mistake! The entire thing was a substitution! The vase was different, the fullness was not there, the flowers were all different in some way, and on top of that, I paid extra to have a balloon sent along, which was also not there. They never tried to contact me to let me know of all the changes that were going to be made. I ordered more than a week ahead of time. She told me that I should have called, how am I supposed to know that they are out of everything, and have a helium shortage? Talking to the owner on the phone only made me feel worse about the situation. She told me that the pictures online are only supposed to give you an IDEA, not a picture of what your flowers are going to look like. WHO DOES THAT? What you order online should be what you are getting, and it should look the same!!! If it's not going to look the same, then why even show pictures?? I have ordered flowers online before and been completely satisfied. In no way do they want to have happy, satisfied customers. She argued with me for almost a half an hour on the phone, and kept going back to the fact that I had checked the substitutions box. Although I never raised my voice, she was yelling at times. Needless to say, I never received a refund for the balloon or any kind of discount for the changes. I would NEVER order flowers here again, and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone else!
