Provided by YP.comPharos Burgers is located at that weird juncture of Los Robles/Atlantic, Garfield and Huntington, at the crossroads of South Pasadena and Alhambra. I've passed it for years, curious, but always daunted by the logistics needed to get into the smallish parking lot.
I'm very happy to say that with the help of a friend who lives in and regularly navigates that area, I finally made it!
We went just after noon on a Saturday, hungry after a training session with our marathon team. We both ordered cheeseburgers with everything - mine sans the Thousand Island dressing, with grilled onions added. The total for each combo - burgers plus a healthy serving of fries and a drink - was just under seven bucks.
The burger was charbroiled but quite juicy and flavorful and loaded with lettuce and tomato. The addition of grilled onions was perfect, along with added mustard and ketchup (available as a substitute for the 1000 island, or on the side). The fries were on the thicker side, though not as thick as steak fries, and rather tasty too.
All in all an excellent burger and fries, at a great price. with great service to boot. I'll definitely be going back!
