As a professional I felt like they were totally trying to rip me off!!  I have had extremely good dental care my entire life and during this appointment they tried to sell me OVER $850 of extra mouthgards, whitenings, etc... (which by the way, I found out were totally unnecessary)  I had called numerous times before my initial appointment and asked, "what will my balance be after the insurance?". I was given an amount and about a month and a half later, it was over double that. When I called to ask a few questions, the woman was NASTY! Telling my that my insurance company is a pain to deal with. (Now, initially I believed her until I called my insurance company and they were truly nothing but nice!!)  I will take some blame that I assumed they would be in my network, but why couldn't they mention that in the first place! I called THREE TIMES!!!! And the lady on the phone seemed very aware of that, after the fact. When asked why she didn't tell me in the first place? She talked in circles.  And to top it off, although the hygienist was nice, she told me waaaaay TOO MUCH about her personal life and to be honest, annoyed me. The actual Dentist himself? Nothing special. I could see the $$$$ in his eyes when he kept calling out more and more and more numbers (the codes for teeth) finding every little imperfection that he could "fix" or "pretreat".
