Provided by YP.comI have attended this church since I was five years old. It's a wonderful, caring church. When we meet, (from Sunday worship to social gatherings) I feel the presence of Jesus Christ there among us. If you live nearby, I urge you to visit on a Sunday morning and join us in the worship of Christ.

Provided by YP.comThis is a wonderful church - very open and caring. There are many programs to meet different needs: from christian education, 3 services on Sunday one is small, one is traditional and one is contemporary, to a great Sunday School program, a great youth program and a fantastic camp in Northern Michigan. If you are looking for a welcoming place to worship, I hope you'll give APPC a try.

Provided by YP.comI am kind of an Internet geek but never thought of leaving a review of a church online. I did a google of Allen Park Presbyterian Church (APPC) and found gardengal's review and felt compelled to share my own experiences...I'm one of APPC's newest members. When I walked into APPC's narthex (the foyer) for the first time, the first thing I saw was the wonderful Welcome table and smiling faces. I walked up, introduced myself and was warmly welcomed and given a lovely gift. I had come alone, and I was invited to sit during the service with two other women that were super friendly and answered my questions. I am divorced and come from a different spiritual background, and I was, and continue to be, treated with non-judgement and respect. I have visited a few churches of different denominations off and on over the past few years and APPC has been the warmest church I've encountered. I hope that those in the area seeking a church home come and visit APPC. Gardengal, I hope that you give APPC another chance. You really can't fairly rate an entire church based on a single sermon. In addition to APPC's Sunday service, APPC offers a Wednesday evening contemporary service and dinner before the Wednesday evening service. We have bible studies, fellowship groups including a large number of youth, women's and senior groups, vocal and handbell choirs, the church owns a camp up north and so many ways to feel connected and get involved!

Provided by YP.comI attended service on July 10, 2011 and was impressed with the large congregation. If someone wants to spend a hour on Sunday morning being amused, this is the right church. The sermon consisted of the self absorbed pastor telling amusing anecdotes about his family and growing up in California. His friends and family always request his Mother's banana cream pie for get-togethers. Oops! His Father tripped and lost one of the pies and Mother scolded him. Isn't that funny? Then there was a story about his trip to the doctor. The congregation chuckles which encourages the pastor to continue spinning yarns about himself. I think there was a religious message there somewhere; not certain what it may had to do with his stories. I learned more about the pastor than I cared to know, but evidently the congregation prefers to the entertainment.
