Temple Beth El, established in 1919 and based in Allentown, Pa., is an affiliate of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. It offers several programs for men, women, youth and children that include adult education, tot Shabbat, junior Shabbat, Adat Shalom, torah study, Dor L Dor and family Havdalah. The temple also provides babysitting for young families who attend services on Shabbat morning. The family education classes at Beth El provide parents with the skills, information, props and repertories for Jewish behavior and living. The tot Shabbat is designed for pre-school youngsters, where children experience singing, Shabbat-appropriate crafts and Shabbat-reinforcing activities.
