Several years ago, my husband and I were there to look at dog food - of which they only had one type - and they had three huskies living in this one small cage. We asked how old they were, and they told us they were x months (I can't remember, puppy age) but they were one month older than the two we had recently adopted. Our two were over twice their size! I don't know how they are still open! I wish I could give zero stars.

PLEASE READ: sharing this review from another review post that I read.
Made a quick stop this morning to Pet Connection in Alliance Ohio. This isn't the first time that I have been here, but every time I have been, the conditions have always been the same. Today around 10 am I stopped by and the temperatures were already in the mid 70s. When we got there the back door to get outside, where the puppies were kept, hadn't even been opened yet. The conditions of the animals infuriates me. Here are some of the images I took this morning. Most all of the dogs are kept outside and are out there year round. None of them had food and only one or two had water. There was feces in all of the kennel runs and they were sitting in it. Most all of the dogs had very dry noses. When a dog's nose is dry it commonly means that they are sick or there are underlying health issues. The three bulldogs that were kept inside did have water but they were kept in a wire bottom cage with only a small blanket, these grid floors can cause leg and foot injuries. There were two boxers in the back room that were being kept in a TRASH CAN. Not only were there issues with the dogs and how they were kept, but the small animals were also being kept in bad conditions. The mice were in fish tanks and there were too many in one tank. The reptile tanks were over stacked. The tarantulas were in a tank, within small plastic containers with little holes punched in them. This is no way to keep ANY animal. No one in their right minds would think that it is okay to keep animals in these conditions. The staff weren't even going out to clean up the kennels.

The place is a filthy pig pen, drove 22 miles to look at a boxer puppy. When we asked to see the puppies the employee asked if we are really interested cause the boxers are 8 weeks old and they shouldn’t be held to much,I told her we drove there to see an maybe purchase a dog, but she decided she’s not going to let us see them , Instead she turned into a real jerk and made nasty remarks at us rather than letting us see the dog, the whole place reeks the second you walk through the front door,DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME at this hell hole. We found out later that the puppies are bought from puppy mills and sold for outrageous prices. We will not be buying anything from this store.

Very disappointed in this place ... they have a 7 month old rescue st berdoodle. It has a umbilical hernia and also a large fliluid build up on its leg . ( could be from laying in a cage .without exercise. ) needs to be free and cared for. Place is asking 400.$ for him .no guarantees on the health of the dog. Offered to give 100$ and take care of all medical for him .She wouldn't even call the manager .she said not gonna take under 300$
Very unsatisfied with the care of there animals .

These poor animals! Went in yesterday and saw two German Shepherd mixed puppies near the register and asked if I could pet them because I've been considering getting a German Shepherd. The manager opened the cage and the poor things had feces matted to their fur at the back of their heads! I started petting them on their back and you could feel they were nothing but skin and bones! Bothered by this we went to look at the other puppies and kittens and as soon as you enter the room the smell of urine and feces is overwhelming it made my stomach turn. Most of the animals had matted fur and seemed to be living in filth. A younger girl started mopping the floor and the mop water had so much bleach in it that it was hard to breathe and literally BURNED our eyes. We could only stand it for a few moments before having to leave the room so I can't even imagine what the animals were going through. After she was finished and the bleach smell was starting to go away we asked to see the black and white kittens that were paired together because we were considering adopting them. When my roommate asked, the manager very rudely told her that the kittens were more than content with us petting them through the cage. I'm sorry but NO pet store I've ever been to has been this filthy, had such RUDE employees, nor denied you to hold an animal you were considering to adopt. I wish I could take every animal in here home, at least I know they'd be fed and cared for unlike here!

DO NOT GO HERE! I walked in one day for some good reptile food, i went over to look at the animals, and they are being tortured. I have seen starved geckos, terminally ill puppies. If you like this place, you are blinded by lying, animal haters!!!

A friend of mine rescued three puppies from this place over the weekend. She told us that each puppy was covered in gnats and fleas, and were laying on a cold concrete floor with no access to food or water. We took one of the pups and this morning, turns out he has worms. We're taking him back to the vet today and here's hoping he has no further issues. My friend vetted him once and had him wormed for what the shot record (that this place provided) said was for the third time. I'm now assuming my friend was the first to get any of the worming done. This place sounds like a puppy mill and needs to be shut down immediately. I'm already contacting the Louisville and Alliance police departments, as well as PETA, the Better Business Bureau, and the Humane Society. The owners should be ashamed. I'm only giving it one star because the site says that I have to rate it to save it. But they get 0 stars in reality.

Horrible people

I traded a leopard gecko and a skink and 20 bucks for a baby svannah monitor. When i got home i realised thet it looked like crap and it was probably sick. I took it back 2 days later and asked to exchange it for an animal that cost 60 bucks and they said i cant do that. They said they can take off 20 bucks of the 60 for a lizard i paid 50 for 2 days ago.

They lie about a free vet visit. Be prepared to pay for it. My husband called them to discuss this after we found out the visit was not free and the women was rude and hung up a him like a baby. The conditions in there are not well. Customer service is awful.. Bad business all around. Buyer beware

Rude and Dishonest

I bought a puppy last week from this company and have now discovered that I was lied to multiple times. I expressed consern that the puppy I was intrested in seemed a little sick, at that point I was told I had nothing to worry about because purchase included a free health check and that if anything was wrong with the puppy I could bring it back for an exchange or refund.

1. There is no free check I am out approx. $50 just to verify that the puppy is healthy

2. The paperwork states that the puppy is 8wk and 5days old.... the original "birthday" is whited out and under I can see a date suggesting that the puppy is several weeks younger.

3. When I called with my consern about being told there was a free health check I was told that I must have misheard or misunderstood.... Since when has it been assumed that a teenager could never make a mistake? Because I was talked to an treated as if I must be mad to think that this teenage boy could have made such a mistake that obviously I must have been the one making a mistake because heaven forbid a teenager would never ever make a mistake like that.

I would not recomment this company to anyone and should you deal with them please get anything verbal in writing because they will deny everything not on paper.

A good experience!

I'm not about the above review, but I have had nothing but praise for the staff at Pet Connection. They have gone out of their way when ever I have been there to offer great customer service. I give the owners 5 stars for customer satisfaction!
