This program claims to teach the importance of honesty and integrity, but the employees themselves were sneaky and manipulative. In my specific case the staff told my daughter she was doing great. They gave her compliments even as she was leaving the facility, cheerfully saying things like, "Your last two weeks have been your very best." However, the staff secretly gave her an "unsuccessful" discharge resulting in a mandatory probation violation resulting in jail time. The program is phony - leaving people to believe they are doing great while writing secret reports that say otherwise.



It is also not a behavioral based program as they claim because they were not willing to address questions about addiction or causes of addictive behavior. In fact, they claimed (in their secret report) that she caused them problems by asking too many questions (which staff was unable to answer) – rudimentary questions like, why, what, or how (why do I use, what triggers my desire to use, and, how does one come to understand the underlying root of their addictive behavior?) Their solution appears to be more basic (guideless): just say "no" and don’t worry about the cause.



My daughter actively applied herself, but went to jail because Sunrise Centre seemingly did not like her questions that extended beyond their preferred method of “just say no.” The Sunrise Centre program seemed totally incomplete, as the staff appeared to lack the necessary education. Is this program some type of scam (as rumors of other incidence where people were “unsuccessfully discharged,” even resulting in arrest, for questionable things that I can hardly believe)?



I should add that the furnace was broken for weeks (in the dead of winter) and they have mice. There needs to be an investigation into their practices, some of which may be morally questionable, if not fraudulent and illegal.
