I hardly know where to begin explaining the dinner we had last night. Our group meets every Friday night at someone's house and we then decide where we want to eat. Sage is often on our list and we have from 6 to 11 people depending on who is around. Last night there were six of us. We had 2 cars and arrived within 2 minutes of each other. Our server was young and very friendly, but when it came time for the bill is where the fun began. We all always get separate checks and there is never a problem. When I got my check, there was a wine charge of $7.00. I had a cosmopolitan. All the other checks had a drink on it that was not ordered. The waiter took them all back to correct. Next I rec'd a check with a $10 Merlot. Others were also incorrect. When I finally got the correct bill, my cosmo was listed as $11.00. My friend's cosmo was $5.00. They told me it was because they got there during happy hour and that's why their drinks were cheaper. We all ordered at the same time and rec'd our drinks at the same time. So my friend, who ordered 2 cosmos had a cheaper bill for 2 than I had for one. They also put a Pinot Noir the 2nd time around on another check. The man who rec'd that bill just went ahead and paid for it. That was a charge of $16.00. The gal who ordered the Pino Noir wound up paying $10.00 for the gentlemen's Merlot. We were then told it was the computer and the server had no control over what was being charged. If there is a glass of wine for $16.00 it should be stated on the menu. Of course the 2 who rec'd happy hour prices were happy, but the rest of us are very annoyed. We all agreed that we will never go back.

The food at Sage is wonderful. They have the best appetizers.
