Thomas Concrete is the largest concrete producer in Georgia dedicated exclusively to ready-mix concrete. The company has expanded its operations into North and South Carolina. In 1985, its parent company, AB Fardig Betong of Sweden, purchased a Georgia ready-mix concrete company with three plants. Since the acquisition and following purchases and plant openings, Thomas Concrete operates nearly 40 concrete plants throughout Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The company, an employer of more than 800, operates hundreds of mixer trucks. Thomas Concrete maintains an operation in Alpharetta, Ga.
