Alton Middle School, also known as AMS, is an educational facility that provides a range of learning opportunities for students in grades six through eight in southwestern Illinois. It offers classes in physical education, science, math and reading and organizes after-school programs. The school organizes various sports activities, such as baseball, softball, wrestling, volleyball and football. Alton Middle School also conducts several music contests. It provides special education services for gifted and talented students. The school is a member the Illinois Elementary School Association. Alton Middle School additionally operates an art club. It offers membership opportunities in the National Junior Honor Society. As a provider of the Title I program, Alton Middle School is part of the Alton Community Unit School District.
