Jackson County Sheriff is a law enforcement agency that is responsible for preserving peace and protecting lives and property within the county s jurisdiction. It performs duties related to suppression of unlawful disturbances and apprehension and securing persons charged with felony or breach of peace, as well as operating the county jail. Jackson County Sheriff also serves warrants and process papers ordered by district courts. In addition, the county sheriff issues permits to house movers and designates the routes for moving houses within the county. Additionally, Jackson County Sheriff assists with correcting situations that are considered as nuisance or danger to the public health.
