As a watch collector and hobbiyist, I'd bitten off more than I could chew in trying to replace a hand set on an homage piece I am working on. At wits end, I'd decided that I had better quit (before I damaged the hand set which had just arrived from Hong Kong) and seek rescue from a local watchmaker. I let my fingers do the walking in the on-line Yellow Pages and stumbled upon Ed Nesrsta's in Alvin: what a find! This has got to be the best-kept secret for watch issues in the greater Houston area. I called Mr. Nesrsta, told him my problem and he gave me directions to his store. When I got there, I was amazed! This is the last of the true family-owned jewelry businesses (in business since 1950) with a full-service watch bench in the store! Mr. Nesrsta mounted my hand set in no time and his price for service was so ridiculously low that I paid him triple! Needless to say, Nesrsta's is my watchmaker for life as of today!
