I was extremely impressed with the Rescue Shelter. The employees were all so friendly and helpful - and they have a wonderful relationship with each dog. The dogs loved them and they are in little grassy yards and all have a name. I adopted an adorable Yorkie/Shih Tzu named Riley and he was all bathed and smothered with kisses as he left. We could not be happier and I highly recommend them when you are looking for a new pet.

I vistied the animal shelter this morning. Looking for a small dog to be a companion for my little dog at home. He is very sad and depressed from the loss of his companion this last summer. Due to a terrible illness we had to let her go peacefully. Might I add we really tried to save her. And we paid a very, very large vet bill doing so. We are all very sad with the loss of our baby. The shelter refused to let me adopt one of the small dogs. The puppy I wanted came into the shelter with a member of its litter. They told me I would have to adopt both of the pups as they would not seperate them.

As a shelter operator their responsibility is to place the animals into good loving safe homes. Not to force people to take in more animals then they can comfortably afford and have time for. Animals are like children they need loving homes with parents that have time for them. I am very discusted that this shelter would not discuss the situation or take the animals need for a wonderful home and life time of happiness into account. It is wrong to force someone to take all or nothing. It is also sad to think that I could have given this baby a loving and safe home and the security and medical care that it is so entitled. Shame on you!

You need to rethink your practices.

A BIG MISTAKE!

I would NOT SPONSOR NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND this company to anyone! My most recent visit to the AMARILLO RESCUE SHELTER ON WASHINGTON STREET was a horrible experience. The female manager was unorganized, unprofessional, and appeared to not know what she was doing. Whoever issued them a government grant to run this dog rescue shelter needs to NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!
