We were a part of this campground for 7-8 years! We were kicked out at the end of the season in 2015. We turned in John Stewart for watching boys in the bathroom shower with a mirror. We reported this to the owner Eric and the managers Stan and Glenda. Three weeks went by and they did nothing. During the three week period they wanted to use our children as bait to catch John. I was told if I told anyone or word got out our family could "hook and leave". The image of this campground was more important to Eric, Stan and Glenda then our children. The day I called Lorain County Sheriff dept Eric went to John's place of work JD Byrider in Amherst or Lorain, got his keys and delivered his camper and golf cart to Johns home. Two other families were kicked out along with us and many families left with us!! John was charged and is now a registered sex offender.

We were seasonal for 2 years. Managers were glad to see you when your bill was due, but did little to solve issues with your campsite. The owner might have said 5 sentences to us in two years. If you don't mind dust storms when it is dry or mud puddles when it rains i guess the roads are bearable until the gravel washes out of the craters. When it is hot and everyone uses their AC we were lucky to get 95 volts to our trailer, but on a cool day we were doing good at 105 volts. After a while you get used to the smell of raw sewage. The pool was so chlorinated you could smell it 50 ft away from the building and it was enclosed. I met some great people there and when they left so did I. If the owner cared about this place it has some potential.

If you looking for a great old age retirement camp ground. This is for you!!! Drinking and having fun is frowned upon. Management is inept at best. Quiet time is meant for sleeping not for having a fire and telling stories at your site. The electricity is awful, and I and many others have lost all our frozen foods. Don't complain because you will get kicked out.

if you are not one of the regulars that knows everyone, you are nothing to them. They don't care about anybody but themselves. You will definitely be treated as an outsider. They have a lot of rules and they change them to suit their needs. Be prepared for Glenda to complain at you for every little thing.

Changing Rules

I have been staying here with my husband and kids because he is working in the area. They promote as being family friendly but it far from it. Since the time we have been here it is constantly something new with the rules. It is very much based on if you are in the right clique if the rules apply to you. Our children have ride on cars that we have had since day one of being here and they are constantly riding them but for whatever reason after being here over a month the so called "manager" approached us and stated "I know they are fun to ride but I checked the rules and they are not allowed in the park." When I asked to explain what had changed from the time we got here until now she just continued to say it is in the rules and the owner doesn't want them here, I then asked for a copy of that where it is stated in the rules she drove off on her golf cart and returned shorty with a copy of the rules highlighted with the rule which states "ATVs and motorized children's vehicles such as mini-bikes or scooters are not allowed" no where does it say ELECTRIC power wheel cars that go between 2-4 mpg not to mention they have been riding them here for a MONTH!!! But it goes to show we are apparently not in the right clique any longer. We will be finding another campground to move to once our month is up which is sad as we do really enjoy being here as the campground is maintained nicely and there are several friendly campers around our site but managers are ruining it for this business.

awesome group of campers, extremely inept management

I recently went to timber ridge to visit my parents for an afternoon as it was my mothers birthday. Now I have been there several times in the past and never had any issues but this last time was a total shocker. First after entering and going to sign in I was told I must pay $1 to visit. OK I guess its only a dollar although I've never paid before nor have I ever paid anywhere else for a 3 hr visit. Then I was told I had to leave my cart I had brought because it wasn't allowed. I have an old john Deere gator that I have brought other times. Its slow but it always beat walking. I asked why and she handed me a rules sheet that was huge and had tiny print..she pointed to a line that said no 2 cycle golf carts or atvs and all other carts must be approved by management..OK I thought. I said its not 2 cycle..she said its a four wheeler...I was dumbfounded by this statement.. literally its the furthest thing from a four Wheeler! She then got really mean and said I don't care its not allowed..I said its been here many times before.. again she said I don't care. I asked if she would get out from behind the desk and take a look at it before making such a decision... she said no, leave it there and walk or get out! I was pretty irritatedby the incompetent person I just dealt with so I just walked out and started towards my parents camper..on my walk there I was passed by a john Deere nearly identical to mine! And a few sites down I found an ATV sitting in a drive!!!! It seems management makes and enforces rules at will with whomever they want. I sure won't be going back. Which is sad cause I've always enjoyed myself there.

IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A family , fun, clicky oriented campground than this may be the place for you! As long as you don't mind having Management trying to find something to bust you for, during your camping experience and rolling the dice, to see if the rules apply to you or not, than this the place for you! If your looking for a campground to show up on friday night, and let your kids loose all wekend long, and retrieve them on Sunday, than this is the place for you!! But, don't worry there will always be a set of eyes on your kids by management. If you dont mind traveling with a generator "THAN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU"! Unfortunately this campground seems to be headed in the wrong direction due to Newer Management, and the Owner continues to invest and make improvements in this park. There are plenty of good and fun peoplE to socialize with bu,t beware of that one person who will turn on you in a moments noticed, THAN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! BEFORE MAKING A COMMITMENT FOR SEASONAL CAMPING, I RECOMMEND VISITING SOME OF THE OTHER LOCAL CAMPGROUNDS IN THE AREA... THAT CATERED TO FAMILY AND FUN!! FRIENDSHIPS WE MADE OVER MANY YEARS WILL BE MISSED, AS WE LONGER CAMP AT TIMBERRIDGE CAMPGROUND!

My husband and I camped there for the first time last summer as a seasonal. We were both made to feel welcome. I must respond to the previous reviews. The manager has told us that he does not feel he has the right to come and go on our site. He respects our right to privacy. I thought that was nice of him. Neither my husband or myself drink at all and the managers know it and yet they have always treated us very well. I know we aren't in their "click" because we have only been out there one summer. Sure, I have seen the manager stressed on a busy weekend, but I see him making time to get on the hayride with the kids and drive around on the golf cart talking to everyone. I would highly recommend this campground. They are always trying to improve the camping experience with new playgrounds and game rooms ect. The management has always asked if we were happy, we were told to call the manager on his cell phone if we had any needs at any time, the managers are concerned about safety and the pleasure of their campers. What more can you ask for?

manager cant manage

i read some of the reviews and was glad to find a place to voice my opinion. i like all that the campground has to offer, its great place to go camping. The problem with this place is the manager, i feel that if your gonna do business with people, you should have better people skills. i felt vary offended by his attitude. i can take my business elsewhere, and if things are'nt any better when i go visit this campground this summer, then me and my friends will find a better place to go to. MANAGER SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT.

Management Power Issues

I was there since the campgrounds re-opened in the beginning it was a great place and everyone enjoyed it. Management would sit around and have a drink with you at all functions and was very friendly, as time passed and he was told he could not drink during working hours any longer he became bitter and short tempered with both adults as well as kids. He is on a power kick has said on a few occasions that whatever decisions he makes the owner with back 100%. I no longer camp there and want to warn any campers that do camp there do not go to owner he will find a reason to have u barred from camping and to all new ppl he can be very bitter when u are not in his click. We have found another campground so just thought i would say one more thing rember managers only run rules in park not outside them, and there's other parks that don't run on a dictatorship.

owner open your eyes

The manager on the other hand is not so friendly at all, We camped labor day weekend because we found it on the internet & thought this would be the place for camping, a lot of improvements were made from 8 years ago, The staff there was very friendly & tried to help if they could, Sunday we went into the office after bingo was done looking for 50 50 raffles the women behind the desk had no idea were it was, she asked the manager & he Yelled he had no time because he was getting ready for the bomb fire,& slammed the door I was very shocked being my first time there he scared my daughter & she grabbed my leg I try not to put my children in a situation like that being scared, I told her he was acting like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum, I also felt sorry for the two people in the office trying to find 50 50 that worked there, you would think that they would want to make money since they were getting half of it. The sad part is the new owner is trying to make this camp ground work but he is very blinded by the Manger in charge. The people that camp here on the 200 block & through out the campsite are very nice & friendly. We talked to some of the campers that stay there about the manager, I learned a lot if your not in his CLICK OF FRIENDS OR DRINK BEER he has nothing to do with you also he does not go around to the different campsite just to talk to the campers not even small talk. Very Rude Person. This camp would be the best place to come with your family, the bathroom facilities are very clean, the staff will go out of there way to help you if they can. NEW OWNER open your eyes you have a nice campsite & Staff you need to find a more FRIENDLY MANAGER with this one you will not have to worry about a campsite you will be losing people to camp here, then you wont need a manager. So please open your eyes Owner and ask your campers & especially your staff that you hired to work for you what they think about the Manager in charge, I'm sure they have no problem talking to you unless you are like your Manager & If so GOOD LUCK TO YOU. I will come back next year see how things has changed my family & I really loves it here. Please let your manager read this maybe this can be an eye opener to him. Also Manager your priorities need to change if your working with the public & managing a camp ground you need to be more FRIENDLY to your STAFF & PEOPLE CAMPING or else you need to move on to a job without being involved with people, MANAGER YOUR NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL. & YOUR VERY RUDE PERSON IN CHARGE. Please do not take my word camp here & see for your self lets hope you have a better experience than we had. Camping All Over
