Overall: didn't show up on time, left huge mess, damaged house, didn't perform all work requested. Conversation with owner part way through project led to minimal improvement.

Started with Action Drywall not showing up on days they said they would. Ten days after they were supposed to start working, they had only worked 2.5 days. After hanging, their workers left a huge dusty mess saying clean up crew would come the next day. They didn't even use a broom to do any cleaning on the stairs my family use to get between bedrooms and kitchen/living area. There was a 1/4" layer of dust that we had to trudge through so I ended up cleaning a large area myself before the cleaning crew arrived 24 hours later. Clean up crew damaged a window sill in our new addition while throwing unused materials out the window. After this experience I spoke with Chip, the company owner to explain that his hanging crew should have at least swept the stairs before leaving and that the cleaners damaged the window. Chip showed very little concern and did not offer an apology.

Mudding and taping went fairly well with crews showing up consistently. Then they did not prime walls prior to texturing, even though informed that we wanted that work done and general contractor signed a work order for it. After texturing, cleaning crew arrived later in the day but only pulled the paper off the floor in the new addition, not touching the huge mess of dust/mud, plastic drop cloths, plastic partitions, & garbage that was left in the rest of the house. Pictures of the mess cleaners left are attached. When I came home and found the mess I emailed my general contractor who contacted Chip. The next day someone from Action came by and said "Chip told me to stop by because you have some concerns." At that point I had already done 80% of the cleaning that his crew should have done so I told them not to bother sending anyone over (this was already his second chance after the first mess I cleaned).

Edit to add: They did provide a discount on our bill.

Action did a terrible job on our shop, they slopped mud all over and left screws everywhere. I spent 2 days cleaning up after them. They even left McDonalds leftovers on the ground in our driveway. Besides being messy and drywalling over the only entrance to our utility room and several outlets they were at least fast. (maybe a little too fast). Find another contractor for sure.
