The Alaska Travel Industry Association, also known as AlaskaTIA, is a nonprofit, member-based organization that provides marketing services. The trade organization was formed in 2000 by the merger of the Alaska Visitors Association and the Alaska Tourism Marketing Council. It represents the visitor travel industry in policy arena throughout the state of Alaska. The Alaska Travel Industry Association has more than 1,100 members that include small businesses and large companies. In addition, the organization focuses on a variety of land use, planning, community and regional issues. It organizes a range of workshops and events. The Alaska Travel Industry Association also administers an international marketing program.
