Cook Inlet Housing Authority, founded in 1974, provides affordable housing options to the low-income citizens of Alaska. It promotes economic self-sufficiency for families through homeownership and rental housing options. The agency receives its funding through the Native American Housing and Self-Determination Act, which is national legislation designed to meet the critical housing needs of the Alaska Natives and the American Indians.
