Our palliative care program addresses your emotional, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual needs while you’re managing a life-threatening illness. You can receive palliative care during any stage of a serious illness. Our specialized team consults with you, your family and your medical team to manage your pain and other symptoms that may develop during your illness. At Providence, your palliative care team helps you and your family know what to expect and teaches your family how to offer support and respond to specific situations. Unlike hospice care, which focuses on end-of-life care, palliative care can be provided during any phase of a serious illness. You can receive treatments at any time, including when you are receiving active treatments such as chemotherapy, dialysis or radiation. If needed, we can help you transition to hospice care.
