PowerSouth Energy Cooperative is a $1 billion generation and transmission cooperative that provides wholesale power to 16 distribution cooperatives, four municipalities and one industrial member. Its 21 member-owners serve the electrical needs of more than 800,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers, which include more than 350,000 consumer accounts in 39 Alabama counties and 10 northwestern Florida counties. The cooperative provides a variety of services to its member-owners and offers assistance in strategic planning, load forecasting and residential consumer surveys; marketing and economic development support, engineering and energy distribution support; printing services, brochure development and advertising support; safety programs and training; and computer network support. The cooperative has headquarters in Andalusia, Ala.
