We had a great time with the family at Papa and Beer! We ate chicken fatijas and they were delicious

Top Quality food for your bucks!! Definitely the best mexican restaurant in Anderson... Everyone is awesome there always smiling and so attentive!!

If there is an issue with you not liking what you order, after the first or second bite, the manager is on it to switch for something of your liking. Don't understand so many negative comments like the birthday song when they are giving you a free treat!!! FREE HELLO!!

Great food cheap prices and great service and drinks are to die for!!!

I think it is about as good as it gets here in A town. I; for one, love love love guacamole for the table appetizer! I eat myself silly with this dish! Fajita's are awesome!!

I love this place it is bomb!

When they first opened the service was great but now it isn't. Also, when they do a birthday song for someone, they shove ice cream in your face which to me is not acceptable. The food is very good and the salsa bar is great. Just wish they would step up the service.

Not Impressed. The Birthday song is way too loud!

This place is awesome! It reminds me of home. My only suggestion is home made tortillas and to build a new location in Augusta, GA. We drove 2 hours just to eat here. It's that good!

ok ... Mexican Restuarante this is the best in the city of Anderson ... I am a computer expert and I gave myself the task of investigating a few names of the other reviews and found that by chance the names of some users who commented are people at other restaurants ... mails were sent to addresses of other restaurants ... not be carried away by some comments that say things exaggerated, the food is very good,,, prices are very good and the atmosphere is excellent ... the service is very good ... the waiters are very friendly ... I recommend it ... I definitely each week I will eat my california style burrito ... it's the best I've ever eaten in my life ... ;) You will love it forever! have a nice day!

I've lived here in Anderson for 10 years now and being from Texas you know we know what real mexican food is all about and nothing out here compares to back home but here is this new restaurant and wow!!!!! I didnt even know you'll where here but I loved it!!! It reminds me of back home my sweet Texas..

They have a salsa bar that has a bunch of variety!!

The staff there is friendly and attentive... When my server couldn't answer my question, the really tall guy, I guess he was the manager, came to the rescue.

Went there on saint Patricia day. Food was ok. Service was horrible. Took 15 minutes to get waited on. Follow up service was poor after our food arrived. Ordered a margarita on the rocks and the brought it with crushed ice. We had two bills for our table. They charged my friends bill on my card and my bill on his. Overall, the service is poor. Needs better management and proactive wait staff.

I like the resturant , the atmosphere is amazing.... Im use goin in once a week n I kno a couple of my friends are regulars , I love their rice .. The food is great the emplyees are so welcomin they dont talk perfect... But hey we dnt talk their language so its ok I love it I love it.. Even on Saturdays I sit about hour to si beacuse they have a await ..... If a resturant has a wait.pretty much means lot people love it

Salsa was completely tasteless. Waiters speak no English at all. Food was cold. Kids fries were cold and soggy. Taco meat was blech....I would have been happier with a cheapo taco from taco bell!

I had heard such great things about the restaurant in Greenville and then I was informed there is a store in Anderson. I was Very disappointed. We were seated and had to wait more than just several minutes for a server. When she finally came she did not stay long enough for us to ask questions about the menu. Oh, about that menu; it is entirely too large!!. Anyway we finally ordered. After some time my son’s order came out but not mine (food was brought to the table by another staff not the assigned waitress). After several minutes our waitress noticed I did not have my food and went in the back to get it. After getting our food I DID NOT see out waitress again. My son had to find her to ask her for a drink!!!. I noted that our waitress was also covering the bar. While I understand the store may be understaffed and very busy, I think it is important for staff to acknowledge customers and it wouldn’t hurt to apologize and thank the customer for waiting. Needless to say I won’t be returning to that restaurant

the restaurant papas n beer is really bad i went there last night really bad service, the food take so long to came out the drinks too there was not bartender, and not many servers i suggest to the managers not to explode their servers they all were doing good trying to take tables and all running around with food and drinks, but where was the manager he couldn't even speak english and i will never come back to that place ever again i suggest the owners to get new managers.

Papa's and Beer in Anderson is a nice family restaurant. The service is great, the food ingredients are fresh and the portions are huge. I don't understand the bad reviews about the decor... Guess what? It looks and feels like a Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend the cilantro salsa and their nachos too!!

First of all when you walk in it is a brand new place...but it looks already run down! The menu has barely any description of what you are eating and no pictures for lunch. Once the food got to the table it did not even look appetizing. It was bland, had no taste whatsoever really. The salsa bar was a huge disspointment every one of them had the same bland flavor and it was a mess. It needs to be wiped down and better taken care of it looked unsanitary. The server we had did not fill drinks until I had to hunt him down for a refill. And after leaving not even eating half of my lunch I had a sick feeling to my stomach. I would NEVER reccommend this place to anyone! Such an utter dissapointment for a new restaurant in town!

Papas and Beer of Anderson is wonderful!!! i have zero complaints...the food is great! and u get a large portion..great price,all the staff that i came in contact with were super friendly..also great authentic mexican atmosphere..who ever wrote the bad reveiw and made negative comments about the interior design of the restaurant must need glasses because they did a great job in making it there own place..the building was formally chiefs wings and fire water and it looked kind of crappy inside then..but u can tell they have spent lots to fix up the place...i would also like to add that the restaurant is run by mexican americans..it is not american ran..and to some people that doesnt matter but to me it does..when i want mexican food.. i want authentic mexican food..there is a difference..i will be going to this place again very happy :-) this is just what anderson needed!

The staff was friendly, the food was decent, and the prices were great but that is it as far as positives go.



VIsiting the women's bathroom was an experience I'd like to forget. None of the doors lock and when I did get one to shut I'd turn around to a lovely mess left in the toilet by the previous user..and that happened in two different stalls. NOT something I wanted to view before dinner. It is the restaurants responsibility to keep a clean facility and this does have something to do with the review on this restaurant.



I will never be back to waste my time or money here.
