Provided by YP.comI was visiting the Chelmsford area of Massachusetts on a business trip recently, and saw this restaurant while driving around, and decided to try it out.
The restaurant had the pleasant feel of a higher class Italian restaurant. The menu had a nice selection. The problem is that they have really cut corners on the details.
They started me out with a bread tray, with a few slices of a very good tasting crusty Italian bread, however, they brought it out with butter, and no extra virgin olive oil. So I requested some olive oil. The waitress brought me over a shaker bottle of plain (cheap tasting) olive oil, along with a bottle of really cheap red wine vinegar; where was the Balsamic? The quality Italian restaurants I am used to, have an herb mixture in the olive oil.
I ordered the Raviolis with meat sauce, and meatballs. I was surprised to find that I did not get a choice of meat, or cheese raviolis, as cheese was the only type available. I must admit, that the taste of the food did remind me of the food my Italian grandmother used to make. However, the size of the portion of the meat sauce was rather sparse. I had to ask for some Parmesan cheese to go on top, and was handed a shaker with pre-grated (stale tasting) cheese in it. I thought, what self-respecting Italian restaurant doesn't use a table side grater for their fresh Parmesan? As for the meatballs, there were 2 of them, at about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. In my personal opinion, it would make a better presentation, if they were only about an inch and half in diameter, and there were 7 or 8 of them, it would be about the same amount of meat, but much more visually appealing.
I also ordered a side salad. I asked for some ranch dressing, and was told that they don't have that flavor. After the salad was brought, I was wondering where the pepper grinder was, for some fresh ground pepper? It was no where to be found.
Over all, one tray of bread, a side salad, and the plate of raviolis filled me up, as I had to leave one behind regrettably, because they did taste good.
