Provided by YP.comDisclaimer: this review is purely based on customer service, not the food, as I didn't even get a chance to eat here.
I called Duran's as soon as they opened, to arrange for them to cater a work event for my company, at the recommendation of the meeting location. A lady answered the phone, I told her that I would like to speak to someone about catering, and she said "Really? We're serving lunch right now and are too busy for this. You need to call us back later." *Click*- hangs up the phone on me. Aside from the rude tone, I tried to be understanding of how busy it gets in restaurants.
I call back at 3:30, thinking that's plenty of time for the lunch rush to be over, and everyone to be calm and available to talk to me. A man answers, and transfers me to another man. Here is our conversation:
Me: "Hi, I'd like to speak with someone about catering."
Man: " Ok..."
Me: "So, um, I'm online, and didn't really see any info or menu, so could you tell me about what you offer? Y'all were recommended to us, since we're not from the area."
Man: "Well we have BBQ."
Me: "Ok, yeah, sounds great. What do you recommend I order? And y'all cater, right?"
Man: "You want the order for pick-up?"
Me: "No sir, I'd like it delivered."
Man: "Well how many people do you have?"
Me: "There's 40 people."
Man: "We only deliver for 50 or more."
Me: "Oh, we were told y'all would deliver to this business, they've used you before. But ok, nevermind then. So..."
And before I could even say, "Oh I can see if someone can come get it," or "maybe we can order 10 extra plates just to get it delivered," or "can you just charge me an extra fee?"... the man HUNG UP ON ME. PERIOD. No "goodbye," no offer to help, nothing. HUNG UP THE PHONE.
I can only assume that this restaurant is so outrageously busy that they would gladly turn down a huge chunk of money from a catering order, and any subsequent business that would have resulted. Good for them. I'm glad you aren't in business to make money. However, maybe learn some manners for future interaction with your apparently large customer base, because I highly doubt they appreciate your downright rude and awful attitude. I will now go out of my way to make sure anyone I ever come in contact with in my rather large company with locations across this state and country, and every place in that area that thinks using Duran's is a good idea, and pursaude them against it.

Provided by YPmobileDid NOT like the sauce. Prices seemed a bit high for the quality of product. Beef somewhat tough.

This is the worst, most racist establishments in Texas. I can't believe how my family and I were treated by the most disrespectful owners. I complained there was something in my 6 year olds beans that looked strange and come to find out it was a roach! I asked for my money back so my family and I could leave and eat elsewhere and Santos Duran begin to insult me and call me black niggers saying I brought the roaches with me. He made my son cry and still continued to curse at me using words we don't use around our son. To avoid further confrontation I decided to leave and had to dispute the charges with my bank. I have never been treated so bad in all of my years living in America.
I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN AND ADVISE ALL BLACK PEOPLE TO DO THE SAME. I have advised the health department of the infestation of roaches and they will be investigated. Justice will be served.

Provided by YP.comThe chopped beef was fine, it wasn't shedded like some places, and it was A LOT !, could have scooped out enough for another sandwich, they put the right amount of sauce on, not too wet, the flavor of the meat doesn't need a lot more. The potato salad was eh, just potato salad. I don't think the cobbler was "real" cobbler, some kind of cake mix with fruit in it? maybe. Good bun held together. They had some cornball country music AND CNN on at the same time, they could have turned both off, why do places think people must have auditory stimulation to eat? BUT, next time down there would have no problem going right there for a sandwich

Provided by YP.comDont believe the negative comments, must be from unhappy ex employee. This is the best BBQ I've had in a while, do not miss it. Amazing jalepeno and cheese bread is a bonus. Pecan pie is excellent, but don't be fooled, this is just Great BBQ.

Provided by YPmobileI was in town visiting some family when I dropped in. It was a Sunday afternoon. When I walked in I was greeted with smiles and by Mr. Duran himself. The food looked delicious as Mr. Duran brought the new freshly cooked brisket out. A traditional BBQ cuisine with a BBQ sauce to try for yourself. It's a family run business and the service was impeccable. Mrs. Duran came to check on us several times to make sure we didn't need anything else. At one point she saw we needed some bread and she have it to us on the house! Good ole fashioned BBQ with a country style venue. You have to try it out for yourself!

Provided by YP.comThis bunch makes Bo's taste good. Slicer didn't listen to order had to redo sliced beef sandwich, BBQ beef potato was sweet. The beef had no flavor had it not been cut so thin it would have been chewy. Had to argue with the cashier as to what my wife and I had ordered. Same person later asked how we were doing, apologizing for the delay in serving 4 out of 8 in our party claiming they were rushed. Well duh! it was noon on Sunday noon when most churches let out. The tea was great!

Provided by YP.comGood place overall. Great tasting bbq sauce. Brisket and sausage were tender and flavorful but brisket was a little on the dry side this time. Delicious jambalaya rice and cole slaw good flavor but cabbage was very course and chopped too thick to enjoy. Beans were a let down because they were pork and beans with a little bbq sauce mixed in not the traditional pinto beans you would expect in Texas bbq. Delicious jalapeno and cheese bread.

Provided by YP.comBrisket and sausage are top notch. Potato salad is too sweet. Beans are good. New potatoes are excellent. Portions are very generous. Loaded baked potato looks fantastic, but I haven't tried it. Price is very reasonable. I still miss Bo's, but I'm glad this place is here.
