These guys were pleasant, professional and got a broken exhaust pipe fixed for a fraction of what another mechanic had quoted me. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Very reasonable people, they have done various small repairs on my 02 focus and never try to sell me anything I don't need. They only charged me $25 to pin up some heat shielding that had fallen down, and I had my car back quickly.

A routine brake job that turned out to be a nightmare. Beware of this place and if you do decide to use them make sure they use a torque wrench! My lug nuts were severely over-torqued along with the brake bolts. I filed a complaint with the State of Michigan but that did nothing to remedy their faulty repairs to my vehicle. Is this like the Flint water crisis? You be the judge but I will never use this place again. No trust is justified for their incompetence. My dealership repairs and new lug nut costs were not reimbursed. I just decided to never go back there. Have not ruled out a law suit yet.

I had a horrible experience just recently. I went to have my back brakes adjusted and they told me I needed $350 worth of repairs and that they were urgent. After taking it a friend he said it was likely they never even looked at the brakes and that I definitely didn't need the items they said I did. In addition when I got back in my car there was grease on the steering wheel, shifter, and overheard liner of my car... I will never be going back here. Get a second option for any items they are suggesting.....!

Went in for one separate repair and shop advised me to get my brakes and rotors replace for over 300.00 alone. Checked my brakes and they have plenty of life left. Had rotors turned for like $12.00. Wonder how many brake jobs are getting done here that don't require it.

I have used Ann Arbor Muffler ...

I have used Ann Arbor Muffler and Brakes for several decades and they have always been terrifc. They are friendly, and give great service for a fair price. They are always great about telling me what is wrong with the vehicle if anything and even show me on my car what they are talking about. They are also great at not doing any repairs when none are needed. I recommend them to everyone I know who needs this kind of service.

Shop does passable work, but is overpriced and treated customer unfairly

I went to this place to get a front headlight replaced, because one of the fasteners holding the left headlight assembly in my car (a 2003 Dodge Stratus) was stripped and I couldn't get the dang thing out myself. I brought my own replacement bulb with me, so all the mechanic had to do was unscrew two fasteners (with proper tools it was much easier for him to do than when I'd tried it myself), pull the headlight assembly from its housing, pull out the old bulb, and put in the new one. Once the problematic fastener was opened, the whole thing takes only 10 minutes max to finish. The mechanic also replaced my safety light, which took no more than 5 minutes (I'm guessing on this one). And what did they charge me for those 15-20 minutes of work? Forty dollars labor, without the cost of the new safety light which I purchased from them! I replaced the headlight bulb on the other side by myself, and I know that the work required DOES NOT merit $40 in labor. If they'd been upfront with me about the cost (they refused to give me an estimate over the phone when I was scheduling an appointment), I would have researched what tool I would need to unscrew the stripped fastener, opened the fastener myself, and saved myself from being cheated by these esteemed auto "professionals." I can't help but feel that they tried to pull one over me because I'm a woman. After I expressed my surprise/dismay over the high cost of the labor, the man at the front desk lowered it to $35. It was a nice gesture, if it hadn't been done with a patronizing lecture about how the mechanics make $70 an hour and that the 15-20 minutes of work on my car therefore merited the original labor cost quoted. I'm one to advocate fair compensation for services performed, but $40 labor for the minimal, non-intensive work involved in replacing *one* headlight (with a safety light tacked on) in a 2003 Dodge Stratus is an overpriced swindle. Shame on you, Ann Arbor Muffler, for taking advantage of a customer. At least now I'm wiser for the experience and will NEVER COME BACK here to get my car fixed.

The bottom line is, DON'T come here for an easy repair if you are a woman. Because they WILL overcharge you. Needless to say, I can't recommend this place in good conscience.
