Provided by YP.comKen and his team are professional in every way, responsive to questions, in regular communication, and, especially important, providing excellent work, in my case, exterior painting and minor repairs. The crew members, all of them very nice, began within the given time frame, worked steadily every day on a regular schedule, took care about plantings and other property, and cleaned up well at the end of the day. Ken and Jamie, who was crew leader for my project, were very thoughtful about prioritizing what work needed to be done: work needing immediate attention to maintain structural integrity, versus work that could wait another year or was more cosmetic. They did so with my input and also keeping in mind the overall budget. The work that was completed was done at a reasonable price, particularly given its high quality: the painting looks very good and, having observed the meticulous prep work that was done for all the surfaces, I have confidence it will last a long time.

Provided by YP.comWe had some exterior wood trim repaired or replaced and then painted. The quality of the work was top notch, and I was extremely happy with that aspect because I am confident that the work done was at a high quality. We had some scheduling issues because our repairs needed to done by a specific date, and despite days missed due to rain, they made sure that everything was done when we needed it to be. I would highly recommend Ken Lussenden to anyone and if we weren't moving out of the area, I would use them again.

Provided by YP.comI've worked over 10 years with Ken Lussenden Contracting, who we hired to paint both interior areas and the exterior of our historic home. We worked out a customized plan with Ken Lussenden to do exterior work on our house over several years, prioritizing where it was most needed. Our home is not only historic, but partially brick, and we could not risk the slightest amount of sloppiness resulting in oil paint on brick (or on our landscaping). We are fussy, and had absolutely no complaints with their exterior work. We also had our unpainted front door (original to our turn-of-the-century home) refinished, and the result was beautiful.
Lussenden's interior work has exceeded our expectations. Foreman Alberto is exceptionally skilled with walls and woodwork both -- he and his crew carefully prepped and corrected problem areas (i.e., walls with latex paint over oil paint) that others had repeatedly made a complete mess of. They also painted around finished, unpainted woodwork with care, without splattering or drops. Recently, our kitchen cabinets were beautifully refinished in a two-day marathon by Alberto and another worker. Alberto does an extraordinary job with finishing woodwork and also with color matching paint -- his suggestions were always smart ones. We have a busy household, and the interior work was done with minimal disruption. Everything was carefully draped to protect from paint and plaster dust. I found the workers to be courteous and tidy. (And also quiet -- never any loud banter or blaring radios.)
I worked in a real estate office that used to recommend a painter to home-sellers seeking a quick, cheap exterior job to spiff up a house to get it market-ready. A couple of years later, you would drive by these houses, and all the paint would be peeling off. This is not that type of an outfit. My experience in working with Ken Lussenden, Alberto and his crew over the last decade has consistently been one of receiving careful service that met our high standards. Their exterior work lasted. They were highly competent and knew what they were doing.

Provided by YP.comOver the years, Ken Lussenden's company has done extensive work in our house. He advised on kitchen design and places to look at products such as flooring and countertops; recommended three different businesses, one that custom=made kitchen cabinets, another that made outer doors, and a third that finished doors; laid cork floors in two rooms; cut off the top six feet of knotty pine panelling in a 12-foot entryway and painted the wall to lighten the entry; built and installed new panelling which matched the cabinets in the kitchen; and sanded and repainted both windows and walls in five rooms.
We highly recommend Lussenden because he coordinates so that the work is done in the proper order and new installations like cabinets and countertops are ready when needed; workers come when expected; work is done efficiently and well; and every day work is cleaned up so disruption is minimal.
Before we found Lussenden we delayed many repairs because we didn't know who to trust. Lussenden runs a reliable, skilled, and competent company. Our house looks great!

Provided by YP.comWe wish to speak very highly of our brief association with Ken Lussendun Contracting & Jamie Schmidt & his helper Frank who together did the actual painting. They repaired some damage to the drywall, removed some wall paper & painted the whole house. The job was done quickly & well & everything was cleaned up at the end of the job. Jamie was so very patient & understanding as we went through what turned out to be an arduous task of finding the “right color.” We look forward to the next step in our move.

Provided by YP.comI have been thrilled with the work done by Ken Lussenden Contracting, especially my crew Randy and Marcus. I had to replace the shower in my master bathroom; it had been installed improperly when the house was built and was leaking through the kitchen ceiling. The original contractors had repaired it once and it leaked again, and I’d had another set of repairs done that didn’t fix the problem either, so I was more than a little skeptical about hiring anyone. The first three companies I had out for estimates seemed competent enough, but they didn’t seem excited by the job (maybe it was too small?) or by working with my husband and me to make the best use of a strangely shaped bathroom footprint and the limitations of discontinued materials. I wanted to build a shower that looked like it had always been there (not, “Nice bathroom, shame they had to replace the shower”) without having to gut the whole thing and start over, and without just turning the job over to the “experts”. Ken’s policy is to let the homeowner have as much or as little involvement in design and work as they want to have. So with Randy and Marcus offering their expertise and suggestions, and listening to our ideas and wishes, we evolved a plan together that maximized both form and function; we couldn’t have done it without them and we love the result. They are also just really nice guys! In addition to chatting with the adults, they answered numerous questions from my 3 year old about the work, smiled at the baby, and still managed to get done on schedule. We liked them and their work so much we moved the family bathroom tub and shower project up the priority list just so we could be sure to have Randy and Marcus do that, too! The first project came in over time and budget because we chose to slow it down and make it a bit more elaborate to best use the space, but Randy was up front with us about the overruns and met the revised estimates on the nose. The second job was simpler and came in exactly on target. When it comes time to finish the basement, we’ll be calling Ken Lussenden and getting Randy and Marcus back!

Provided by YP.comWe have worked with Ken Lussenden Contracting for several years. Our experience with them for a number of different kinds of projects (interior and exterior painting, carpentry, general maintenance) has been outstanding. Ken, who has been in the business for almost 40 years, and his supervisors are extremely knowledgeable. Their goal, which we share, is the long-term quality maintenance of our home. The work crews are consistently timely, responsible. friendly and incredibly neat. The work is done to a very high professional level; everything is done perfectly the first time. They are not the least expensive group in town, but they provide the most consistent value.

Provided by YP.comAfter several attempts with other companies to diagnose and fix my water infiltration problem, I called upon Ken Lussenden Contracting. Ken sent his senior carpenter to investigate. The problem was two stories above the evident water damage. The flashing around my chimney got sealed, the rotted fascia lumber was replaced and painted, and I've not had any problems with water leaks since. I was so pleased to finally find a tradesman who knows how houses are supposed to work...and why they fail. I highly recommend this company. They are worth the price to get it done correctly the first time.
